Just watched the whole video of the event. Good lord they are boring. Apple does a WAY better job presenting products.

Plus, they had no demo! Just a video. Apple always does hands on demos in their launches so you can see everything in action.

I almost closed the video 3 times I was so bored.

Plus, now that we are learning more, I’m not as excited. Unlimited data plan is capped at 1GB. Horrible. It has no 3.5mm headphone jack. Horrible. It has no ability to sync with Outlook. Horrible. 3G will be available in a whole 17 markets by years end. Horrible.

All that, and the device is FUGLY!! I’d be embarrased to be seen in public holding that turd.

I have been wanting to leave Verizon and jump on board with one of these cool phones for awhile now. But every device has major oversights and shortcomings. The iphone is missing a ton of stuff, but it’s better than the G1 by a mile right now.

I guess I’ll be waiting another year for the 2nd Android phone (hopefully correcting these hardware problems), for developers to get the holes patched in the software (Outlook sync please!), and for Tmobile to get their 3G in at least 50% of the markets I travel to and offer a truly unlimited plan.

Either that, or maybe Apple will finally respond by including the items they’ve ignored and I’ll finally jump on that bandwagon.

By the time these guys get their crap together, S60 touch and WM7 may be out. So who knows, maybe 2009 will finally be the year we get everything we want in a device.

I think the device is fine looking. But out here in the Midwest, we will not feel its full effects until we get 3G. Will I order one? Time will tell…..

LOL @ bbrim… Asked if the Touch HD was coming to T-Mobile with Android. THE ENTIRE boasting feature of the Touch HD’s software is the fact that it has TouchFLO 3D, which runs over WM6.1… Just an ignorant statement, I’m sorry.

DO YOU THINK AT&T WILL COME OUT WITH THE OMNIA WITH IPHONE SOFTWARE? OMGZ THATD BE KEWL.

I think it kinda has the look of a sidekick, although tons of people have complained that it looks “plasticky”… What do you guys think, seeing it in person? Obviously it’s not a close-up but I’m assuming they have it up on a display as well?
