Okay, so, at the risk of appearing entirely moronic, I am going to ask a question: will a T-Mobile SIM card work on an unlocked CDMA/GSM Storm? I know that I won’t have access to BlackBerry branded programs, but would I have the same Internet and email capabilities as I do when the SIM card is in my T-Mobile MDA phone? Thank you in advance to anyone with the time and patience to answer a newbie question!

Having a camera flash definitely one-ups the gsm version over the cdma/verizon version for me, especially due to the fact that it will probably ship WITH visual voicemail, unlike Verizon’s storm, which is pathetic on so many levels. It’s a signature feature that Verizon wants to charge you 1.99 for and it won’t even launch with the device? Having no wifi on both models is an atrocity though. With so many smartphones having it, either this was Vodafone forcing its will on RIM or RIM just being the same bunch of lazy f***s with allergies to implementing 3G. Apparently they only have ONE 3G/Wifi device in them and the Bold is all we’re getting for now.

Damn, glad I’m not the only one “delusional” enough to think that this handset will be dropping on a US GSM carrier sometime in ‘09.

Taylor thanks for doing my job for me. Right now they have the exclusivity but I do not know how long that is supposed to last. Are you an idiot, or can you simply not read? GSM-only phone does not mean that the phone will be making its way to at&t or T-Mobile. It will be arriving in North America, specifically CANADA via Bell or Rogers. So, yes, the lifetime exclusive in the U.S. still holds.

Does that mean you can’t have the Storm on GSM? No. You can still have it if you want to pay upwards of the probably $500-700 out of contract price. But judging by your inability to reason, I doubt you have that kind of money laying around.

Wifi is not needed for the CDMA model, unlike AT&Ts horrible 3g coverage that need WIFI.
Verizon has the best hi speed data network, so WIFI is not needed.
