Telus HTC Touch Pro surfaces in Best Buy ad
This week’s Canadian Best Buy ads have hit the presses, and the company had a bit of a shocker in store for those attentive enough to catch the gaffe. It seems that the big box retailer has let the cat out of the bag in regards to the upcoming Telus HTC Touch Pro. The handset appeared alongside the Touch Diamond and the Touch Dual in the ad spot, all but confirming that the QWERTY-equipped beast will be hitting Telus stores before too long. The ad doesn’t reveal anything in the way of details such as pricing, specs, and/or release date, but we can’t imagine these formalities will take too long to surface. If you’ve been in the market for a CDMA version of HTC’s flagship device (that is, of course, until the Touch HD hits the streets) and happen to live on the right side of the border, consider this a prelude to your lucky break.
Thanks, rileyfreeman!

My brother just bought an HTC Touch Diamond unlocked today… I thought the back would be far more contoured based on the pics, but it’s not bad at all. The phone is actually suh-weeeet.

I was looking at the HTC touch pro, and comparing it to the xperia x1, which I have been contemplating, and I must admit the full keyboard is an enticing change from qwerty.

I’m curious…will Best Buy be offering either the Touch Diamond or Pro as a subsidized phone with a plan via Sprint…or will they just stock the unlocked versions?

Hi Riley,
I wondered if you might have picked up on how Telus have made the TouchDual different from other operators.
They’ve pre-loaded it with “Quick Find”, a re-branding of Zi Corp’s Qix, which basically replaces the usual in-built dialler application. Have you come across this before?

No Wifi? That’s a deal breaker for me. How can the diamond have wifi but the pro doesn’t? Makes no sense to me!

The Sprint HTC Touch Pro DOES have WIFI.
