Apple Ultracompact USB Charger Recall
Attention Apple owners and Mac fanboys: Apple has issued a recall yesterday for their Ultra-compact USB chargers. Apparently the prongs have been breaking off and getting stuck in outlets, putting people at riskĀ of electric shock. Yikes! Apple is advising everyone to stop using them immediately, which is kinda stupid since they won’t be replacing them until October 10 (via web or in-store exchange). So, uh, if you depend on one of these, we guess you’ll be going without power for a while, or maybe you’ll just put yourself at risk by being the defiant rebels you are. Those who own the original iPhone, or overseas iPhone 3Gs take a little relief in knowing the ones provided in the box with their phones aren’t affected. Whew!
Thanks, to everyone that sent this in!

You can plug the usb cord into your pc and it will charge through pc. i know it is a hassle but you can.
also if you have a car charger it still works.
if you don’t have a car charger then buy one.
finally if you had originnal iphone the plug prongs from it will work as well.

Ghee golly I’m glad apple can do no harm. Sure some poor little rat dog chihauha might have electricuted itself after licking the outlet with said exposed prong but what’s the world with one less rat dog chihauha, a better one!

Does this recall affect the USB chargers in all countries or just the USA (given that the prongs are different for most countries).
