Android-powered HTC Dream G1 Caught in the Wild

We may be less than a week away from T-Mobile’s official announcement of the first ever Android-powered mobile but it looks like the little fella just couldn’t stay in hiding anymore. The first clear live pics of this history-making handset have finally emerged and thankfully it’s looking a bit sexier than it has in previous sights, and far less plasticky. Unfortunately the cameraman couldn’t get in a bit closer for some nice shots of what is likely the initial release version of Android but hey, no one’s perfect. Whether it ends up with the Dream or G1 moniker, we’re definitely looking forward to putting our hands on it next Tuesday and seeing if it can live up to the hype. Stay tuned for some live-blogging action and get ready to get your Android on.

How about we stay on topic, meaning no iPhone or Blackberry stuff. For those of you that need to always write negative things about each of these, let me save the trouble. Yes, the iPhone sucks because Apple made it. Yes, the Blackberry sucks because it still has a physical keyboard. Blah blah blah. Moving on.

I agree with Zach, this looks much better in the wild. I might even have to re-up the contract to get one!

it resembles to much like the Sidekick. I’m a 24 year old man, I would look like a fool with that.

Shane, you know now that HTC has put out this phone it wont take too long for Android to find its way onto any of the other HTC phones. Just imagine the HTC HD or diamond with android on it, that will be a sweet phone. I all ready cant wait for the HD after seeing the live video of it in action and thinking about it and android is like a dream come true. You know like everything we had hoped for the iphone 3G but all we got was a subsidized scrachy plastic back phone with very little new additions.
