You never know what will pop up on YouTube and today it is a video of the HTC Touch HD in action alongside the Samsung Omnia and the Apple iPhone. The video is in French and we cant understand a word they’re saying but the device still looks hot! If this doesn’t make you want to fly over to Europe and big up this gorgeous phone, we don’t know what will.
Thanks Franklin!

Looks awesome. Depending on what the price is for this I may just fly over to Europe and pick one up for use on AT&T here. Anyone know how hard/the cost to unlock?

I would love to see this video with subtitles.

Only thing missing on this phone is Google Android

Hope this helps guys:
Highlights:
- He is super impressed with the phone
- He loaded up his website and the site looks minuscule on the HTC HD compared to the iPhone, thanks to the 800 x 480 resolution.
- The material on the back feels like the HTC Touch.
- YouTube loads a bit slower on WinMo
Others:
- Audio jack: 3.5 mm
- 5.0MP camera, but without flash
- A stylus at the bottom
- Accelerometer, microphone, and USB charging

Too bad you won’t be able to use ATT 3G
Seriously, HTC needs to stop being cheap and include all the 3G bands. I highly doubt it cost them more than a few dollars per phone.

I keep seeing comments like this. I don’t understand. Isn’t it irrelevant that the phone currently does not support US frequencies (keyword being “currently”)?
Isn’t it pretty standard for phones to come out exclusively for the European markets, and then follow with US models, obviously including compatible frequencies?

Zomg ils sont des çaisFrans (French). They’re gonna be biased toward technology that no one cares about, like Opera.
I like Opera, don’t get me wrong, but they make it sound like Opera is the greatest thing since Camembert cheese. The reviewer on the left mentioned that he much prefers Opera in general so of course he’s gonna toot the power of Opera over Safari by showing a webpage on PhoneHouse (France’s equivalent of Best Buy Mobile or the UK’s Carphone Warehouse) that doesn’t load up properly on the iPhone.
I would not be the least bit shocked to find that alot of other pages don’t load as quickly or as well as Safari. Using one example, from the company website trying to really PROMOTE the HTC Touch - PhoneHouse - is basically abit of scam. I bet that either A) That page is poorly scripted B) it was purposely poorly written to make the iPhone’s WebKit look dumb.
Anywho…my 2¢

My brother has an iPhone, and I have the latest version of Opera on my WM Phone (3.5″ VGA Display. I know for sure that Opera does a better job at rendering web pages than Safari. Also, guess what? The new version of opera allows you to go on Youtube, the real Youtube. And yes you can view the vidoes there as you do on your desk top. All biased aside, Opera Mobile is far more superior compared to Safari Mobile.

I don’t know why people keep on comparing these high end products to something like the iphone. I mean the video obviously tells you that there is a big contrast in terms of which is the better phone. The camera, the youtube app, the screen, the browser? Come on people.
I would get this phone today if it came out on Verizon instead of the Storm but these phones always take forever to get here and for no damn reason!

I AM IN LOVE….finally …I will try to make the HTC Touch HD my next phone although I think it’ll cost somewhere very close to 1000 euros..which is a lot…
It looks really fast..I wouldnt’ve expected that…THIS is the phone that I would like…
I am not waiting too much from Android…am skeptical about the whole Android thing going on..I guess we’ll just have to wait and see..
I like HTC because they put the pohne on the market right away..unlike sonyericsson…look at the Xperia its almost a year since it was announced..wth

why did htc piss on us with no US 3G? please for the love of god bring it to sprint, i don’t want to give up my free incoming.

Quit with the “Why no US 3G?” posts. When it comes stateside, it will have US 3G. It’s been proven to be true over and over…

The HTC Touch Diamond keyboard will rotate when the screen is rotated. So I suppose it would be same in TouchHD.

That was a great review, thank God I speak french and was able to understand everything they said. Very promising phone, too bad HTC didn’t make it a “true world phone” like the iPhone.
