Comments on: AT&T launch updates: HTC Fuze, Samsung Mirage, Bold moved to November?

The display models at AT&T stores for the Fuze are pretty slow, and make the phone seem very sluggish, yet I hear the phone is pretty fast in terms of loading its own applications. Touchflo3d also wasn’t as quick nor as responsive as I’ve heard as well. Out of the box, is the Fuze generally sluggish, or was there just problems with the display models?

Also, way too many people I know are suggesting the iPhone over the Fuze, including the store workers themselves, and a big issue seems to be Windows Mobile. What would be the pro’s and con’s of Winmo for a Winmo noobie? For those that own both the iPhone and the Fuze, what do you like and dislike about each phone?

Just bought a fuze and I’m anxiously awaiting shipment. It was hard to pass up a WM6.1 phone with all the great features. I’ve never owned a Smartphone before but I do own a Dell Axim X51V, although I unfortunately never get the full features out of the PDA since I can’t stand carrying it around with me everywhere. Getting the smartphone will solve that problem and I will actually be able to use one the way it was meant to be used. Now, if only amazon shipped on the weekends….

Hey jackbutt- guess what? At&t beat other networks to the iphone, the mirage, Nokia 5800 expressmusic, and the bold. Isn’t that telling you something? They have the best network. And at least they didn’t have to have a massive recall like verizon did with the samsung glyde.

Having used mine now for two months, I can say the price is worth it! I haven’t had any major problems whatsoever! Actually, what I plan to do is give my oldest son the one I’m using now and buy another for me. I prefer to use the Blackberry enterprise system for my email etc. (business reasons) so my son will be happy and so will I! (The Bold I currently have is out of Canada and the serial number ties it to Rogers. I need to be on AT&T for my business BB mail. *sigh*) Tomorrow morning, on my way to vote, I’ll pickup the new one and then in the afternoon I’ll ship off the old one (with OS updated) to my son.

Tanner, they had the Tilt on the website but I didn’t see that looked like the Fuse. I’ll look in the store tomorrow morning and see what’s there. They always put the AT&T name on HTC phones, but I can tell which ones they are. I’ll post here when I get back if you haven’t found out yet if the Fuze has been released.

Spoke with ATT representative today and confirmed that the Blackberry Bold and the HTC Fuze have a launch date of November 4, 2008. She said that the email came today from management however, no prices were available.

VERY kewl Ethan!! If you love touch phones, you’ll adore the Storm! Personally, I’m not a touch phone person. I’ve found there’s no middle ground, one either loves them or just isn’t comfortable using them…I like using keys to type, etc. Maybe it’s the geek in me! hahaa My Bold is a killer phone. Simply the best I’ve ever used, bar none! 3G screams on it and for the (now) nearly 2 months I’ve had it, it hasn’t dropped a single call. The graphics are flat awesome and the layout of the keyboard is *exactly* perfect for me. I do know you’re going to really love the Storm though! I have a couple of friends who were doing some testing with it for RIM and they couldn’t say enough good things about it! The only thing they were upset about was that it wasn’t going onto a 3G network. Do you know the release date on it yet? I heard the rumour that Verizon is going to be releasing it right around the same time as AT&T is bringing out the Bold (Nov. 4th). Is that what you’re hearing about the Storm? Can’t wait to hear how much you love it!! PLEASE post here and tell me how you like it – I’ll be watching for your “first impressions”!!

I’m here in the US. I’ve had a Bold for over a month now – brought in from Canada. I slipped in my AT&T sim and it immediately came up on 3G, had all my contacts, etc. and is SUPER! Yes, it has the occasional hiccup – the OS isn’t perfect yet. I have no doubt that when RIM releases them to AT&T there will be a new OS and I’ll download it. That will remedy the few *very, very* minor things which need to be corrected…none of which affect data or even primary operations of the phone. For anyone planning to buy one – you will DEFINITELY love it! I am VERY picky about my cellphone and this one is excellent! The Blackberrys have often been my favorites but this one is even heads above those I’ve had in the past. You’ll love it!

I just came from AT&T store, the person told me he would have his Fuze today, at the training, but instead he brought up a booklet about fuze and stuff.. one thing that I saw in the booklet was that if you get a call and you want to put it silent you just flip the phone, he would have his on Monday the 20th, and he told me the store should be getting it by 23 or later this month.

List of release dates seems wrong already, says the new V9 will be released on the 2nd it’s 11:06pm and no sign of any new V9 at all. Not sure but I’m betting these images are photoshoped.

Actually it wasn’t Verizon’s decision to NOT go with the iPhone. There were coverage and data issues that Verizon just couldn’t overcome. Not to mention, Apple didn’t want to sink all that money into a dying technology (CDMA). This was all published in the NY Times with direct quotes from a Verizon spokesperson telling everyone that they couldn’t meet the coverage and data requirements set by Apple, not to mention they wanted to market the iPhone for well over $800 on contract.

I’m starting to hate atnt fucken cock suckers they run their mouths like their the shit but, they can’t even give a release date for the blackberry bold. Bold is out in the UK as from the 15th of this month, I doubt its an issue with Rim on the 3G front as the UK market has had a 3G BB in the form of the 8707 for over a year, I read somewhere that iPhones where using a major part of AT&T’s bandwidth and they are trying to upgrade thier infrastructure, Either way its Bold for me can wait to get my gruby little hands on the BGR Bold
