A Storm is coming on Sept 15th, presumably BlackBerry
An internal email floating around Verizon Wireless hints at some “exciting news” coming on Sept 15th. According to Kevin Byrne, Verizon will tentatively launch “http://www.verizonwireless.com/storm” on September 15th, followed by the actual product launch on 11-1-08. Some more eye candy (Photoshop > Filters > Render clouds was the best they could do?) and a confirmation of the phone (finally) will be sweet, but don’t go standing in line to be the first to buy the Storm on November 1st. BG tells me you all will have to wait around one more week for that…

It would be pretty funny if we had a thunderstorm on the day that the bb storm is released.

I guess that makes the iPhone a “me too” device also. If I remember correctly, people have been touching their Treo’s longer than most fanboy’s have been old enough to have their parents get them an iPhone. I have a Palm Pilot that’s over 10 years old.
PLEEZ MA! EVRY1 DAT’S KUL HAZ 1!!!

Man Apple Fan boys are out in droves. Whats the matter, cant take the fact that the Iphone is laden with bugs and is a horrible phone?
What do you have against Apple or those who enjoy their products? Or Bama? You an Auburn fan? That would explain alot!

Why do people continually prove they are idiots by saying how much of a disaster they some how seem to know that it will be?
Reality called, they are asking for you people to get a clue before opening your mouth.

i dont know why people are bitching about the touchscreen! I bought the DARE (done get me wrong, its a decent phone) and i kept on accidently hitting items that i didnt want to select and it was kinda anoying. With this whole screen is a button, i think im going to like, because it wont select it until i push down on it. im sure if people get anoyed with it they will release a update where it turns of the button functionality.
that NinjaGeek is just jelous its not the Apple Storm/Thunder.
(When was that video taken? The other phones that he had were kinda old news. If its a beta phone, the problems could be fixed by now)

I can’t wait for this phone! I like how you can tell who is in love with their iPhones (aka ninja boy) Call me a crackberry fiend or whatever but I will definatly be upgrading from my 8830 to the 9530. Every reason ninja boy gave for “not liking it” made me like it a lot more. Basically it doesnt do the things that I dont like about the iphone.

I have nothing against Alabama.. Nobama = NO Obama..
I love Apple products, I own four Macbook Pros and a Imac, along with countless Ipods. However, the Iphone SUCKS.. I spent a month dealing with dropped calls and crashes.

Thanks for the proper credit!
It’s GREATLY appreciated!

BGR, you know you do have an issue giving credit to Verizon related things. But if its an inferior GSM phone, you’re praising the hell out of it and giving credit to everyone and their Mother. YOU should make this site ALL GSM and don’t even bother with CDMA phones.

ohhh so guess what i know someone who works with verizon but they make cases for all the phones. The touchberry is the next to come out and i talked to them they even have seen it. She also told me about a new motorola phone that is supposed to be coming out with a cool touch screen. She got to see it for 10 mins before it was shipped to China for case fittings. its not any of the moto phones youve mentioned so just thought youd want to knowwww

Despite all the trashtalk, I am excited for this release- when it comes to canada. Why? After rolling with the Rogers bold since release in august I was let down by bold, and cant wait for a new approach from BB. The slight improvements to the OS are nothing great, and with the 3G and browser issues RIM dropped the ball. Browsing on this thing via wifi or 3G is only marginally faster than my 8310 (my N95 NAM was lightning fast with 3G)!
So, anyone want a cheap bold? It will be up for sale the second I get a storm.

If this pans out I’ll be pre-ordering this puppy tomorrow or the next day
As has been said elsewhere an insider on HF who has actually used this phone said that the version in the video is NOT the current firmware.

i had cingular/att a few years ago in sf. it was the worst. dropped calls daily. switched to vzw and get maybe 2 per week. switched to mac from pc (1 year ago) and love the iphone and mobileme concept. i just can’t take the service though.
obviously, the verizon decision to turn down the iphone was terrible and they probably regret it.
if bb would do a cloud sync (for any of their phones) I think you’d have folks ditching their iphones. i think that’s more important over the keyboard. I have an 8830 and the keyboard is terrible and when the trackball gets a microscopic piece of lint in it the phone is unusable I’ve used an iphone and it’s not that bad.
regardless of what anyone says on this site, the storm will be a monster. it may not get people to drop the iphone, but it will get a significant share of people considering it (from other carriers) and will reduce their own losses.

if you use a mac and cant deal with the iphone service issues, use the google apps with a bberry. i use it and sync my pics, calendar, RSS, fav locations on maps etc…whether i change on my phone or comp the new updates take affect on the other. the storm is gonna work great for me, i need a phone to work, not cause its an accessory.
I work emergency services in NYC and my colleagues with the iphone drop calls everyday, bitch cause they cant send or recieve MMS, and cant easily add long contact info cause no cut/paste.
I also heard from a comm guy at work that google and verizon are signing some sort of deal, not confirmed, just heresay as of now i guess.
