Say Hello to the HTC Touch HD
After yesterday’s somewhat disappointing HTC Opal news it looks like HTC fans can do a complete 180 and get pumped. This thing might look like a BlackBerry Thunder but thanks to TouchFLO 3D we can be pretty sure the Touch HD will offer a much better touch interface. Very little is known about this sexy little devil at this point but here’s what we can tell you:
- 480 x 800 pixel WVGA touchscreen display (!)
- Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional
- TouchFLO 3D UI band-aid
- 3G (you better hit that tri-band radio, HTC!)
- Qualcomm 7201A processor @ 528MHz
- 512MB ROM / 256MB RAM (+32MB on processor)
All that plus a heaping dose of badass has us pretty excited. In fact, we’ve almost completely forgotten about the Opal. Our hope is that someone at HTC wised up, canned the Opal and this is what they coughed up instead.
[Thanks M]

looks good, WM is a con to it and would have liked to see a faster processor but looks like a good device though.
Thanks Makes Me - I’m here.

as an iphone owner I’ll even admit that I like the way this device looks and its specs. Add in wifi and gps and its a winner.

i was gonna make some fat jokes but from the other pics it looks like a wide angle camera was used which makes it oval looking.
WM sucks balls. no keyboard is a deal breaker.
is the screen glass or plastic?

This device looks really nice, of course wm (even 6.1) still doesn’t add up for me but as far as specs go, I’m definitely happy with the specs on it. It could of had a faster processor, but 528Mhz is enough. The body is about the same as the iPhone and even though it looks similar to the Blackberry Storm, (which looks fat, I don’t care what anyone says…) I still dig the form factor and it still looks like a supermodel when compared to the Blackberry Storm. I just hope HTC has a secret for this device such as HD quality YouTube videos ready for this device when it launches.

Not to get way too ahead of myself, but I can’t help but wonder if HTC wouldn’t mind producing a version of this with a slide out keyboard ala Nokia 810. This thing, then, would totally rock (well for me that is..hehe).
Why not? They already did that with the HTC Pro; Basically a variant of the HTC Diamond but with the slide out keyboard. Heck they even went ahead and produced another version without Touch, but included a slide out keyboard, and numeric pad in the HTC S740.

The iphone is better.

The big question is will HTC sell it here in the US or will this be yet another cool phone that won’t be offered here.

Where are the full specs on this phone. Any word on whether it will show its face in the US and possibly with a CDMA carrier.
