*According to the “ninja” who “reviewed” it. Like we reported, the whole screen is a button, and the method of navigating the phone involves using the physical buttons, and then touching and clicking the screen to select something. Basically a hot mess. Man, that on-screen keyboard looks like death ran over twice. Skip to around 2:55 for the BlackBerry Thunder / Storm action. Comments please…. ?
Thanks, R.!

What in the hell is this thing? Looks like it would take minutes to just write a text message. Lame. And it doesn’t look good at all.
Good thing it’s only for Verizon.

THIS IS DEF AN OLD BUILD! Notice how the keyboard starts out one way, then changes to the “ugly” keyboard we’ve seen previously.

I think the Blackberry Storm has some potential. I do think it does need some work done though, which will hopefully happen before it’s release on Verizon later this year. The silver/chrome sides on all the Blackberry’s that are coming out make the Blackberry more sophisticated/futuristic looking. I’m loving the whole shiny black/silver theme they are going for. I remember reading an article about Mike Lazardis, the CEO of Blackberry, hiring watchmakers to design more sophisticated, beautiful Blackberry’s. I’m soooo in love with Blackberry’s!!!

Problem with Blackberrys (RIM) is they really don’t seem to be reworking or improving the OS. They simply change the look with different themes & icons & occasionally add some functionality. The OS need completely redone from the ground up if they want to keep up the changing market. I love blackberrys but seems everything since the Pearl has been just “OK” which is disappointing. Lets hope the BOLD changes that because the thunder look like a steamy pile!

I think that its going to be great! we now use a trackball that we manuver around and then click for an action that we want…..this will be the same thing but you will just drag your thumb or finger across where you want then press for clicking….its the same thing were doing now,but the next level up, plus people always complain about iphones that you accidently press something that you dont want, and that just makes people upset…so this “press for an action is great”
blackberry + bigger screen + easy nav = everything that we want !!!
Great Job
Cant wait!!

Well, I know BGR is always on top of it when it comes to phone info. Quoted often on CNBC as an insider of whats going on in the industry.
That being said, I can’t believe BlackBerry will allow its rep to be sullied by bringing out a weak product, especially its fist foray into the “touchscreen” market. No way! No How! Not to mention Verizon would have egg all over its face.
I think in a couple months everyone will be raving about the “Storm”. I respect BGR and definitely dead-on in this review, but probably an early edition of the phone which I believe will run much better. Gotta go with the Blackberry cred here. They won’t disappoint.

Nice work RIM.
I have an IPhone and if I could actually connect to a decent damn network it would be a great phone. Definitely picking up this BB when it arrives and dumping AT&T for good. AT&T sucks - 3G BS. Hardly better than EDGE on their infrastructure.

i’m sure there is some sort of key sensitivity adjustment……
i hope it will be more graphically appealing.
the ninja’s voice is very irritating.

the only thing worse than this pre-realese software of the blackberry is the current iphone software man you dis this but when the iphone comes out. ooh you can listen to music on it, and get email even the internet and you can do it all for almost ten seconds before it crashes, the only thing that could make it better is if you could id don’t know GET A PHONE CALL. blackberry’s been doing all that for years!!!

I wonder why Yahoo hasnt fired this guy for breaking whatever NDA agreement they had with RIM. Then again maybe they’ll keep him around so they can sue him too!!!!

Looks like RIM is flexing their corporate muscles. The video is down off youtube.

Have been with verizon for 10 years, attempted to switch to ATT becuase of the IPHONE 3G. AFter a week returned the phone and went back to verizon wireless due to ATT horrible service. The down fall for such a good phone as the IPHONE is poor service through ATT. Give me a phone that is comparable to the IPHONE with actual service like the Verizon network and I’ll take it. My brother in law, who is an IPHONE lover, continues to use my cellphone when we are together becuase his All mighty I phone with all its capabilities forgets to have the feature that all regular cell phones have, SERVICE. I guess you can still listen to all the music that it can hold.

I was with Verizon back and forth for the past couple of years. And hands downs Verizon is the best out there. I switched last year to at&t to get the IPhone. What a mistake I made. I looked forward to seeing this new BB from Verizon. Finally they are getting a great looking phone. That was my only problem with Verizon. Finally the best will have the best.

The phone is only as good as the service its on. ATT has horrible service. Thats why I gave back the IPHONE and went back to Verizon. This BB looks like it has a lot of features and should run great with the BEST service available in Verizon. I will be picking up this phone as soon as it is made available. If Apple were smart they would open the phone to all carriers becuase ATT is not cutting it. I am not sure why all these IPHONE lovers are so happy with their poor service, I guess they are just happy with the games and music that it holds and not actually for the phone and internet coverage.
