*According to the “ninja” who “reviewed” it. Like we reported, the whole screen is a button, and the method of navigating the phone involves using the physical buttons, and then touching and clicking the screen to select something. Basically a hot mess. Man, that on-screen keyboard looks like death ran over twice. Skip to around 2:55 for the BlackBerry Thunder / Storm action. Comments please…. ?
Thanks, R.!

I LIKE IT !!! that seems like a great idea at least you know when you press something the iphone is great but i still cant get used to typing on it, Dont beat me up now.. I just like that you have feedback. and who knows how “hard” you have to push in the button.. anyways not much of a review. how does the rest of the phone look ? Cam? how does it feel in you hand ? WTH ??

Correction, I couldn’t get the link above to work, but went to YouTube and searched BlackBerry Storm and found it.
(P.S. I don’t care that it’s a terrible review, which it is, I’m just glad to see it working and live.)

Effing idiot IMO. how can you get your hands on that phone and not show it actualy being used. I can pick up any phone and show you the keyboard and home screen while muttering, “Uh I don’t like it.” I hope RIM goes after this fuqwad for releasing the video, also maybe we will get some oficial release (or unoficial viral) stuff from them to try and cover up some of this bad PR.

There is an old saying that goes “fools and children should never see things half done”…..
I see the kids are reviewing the Storm
Wait and see what it ships like. Yer man Ninja is playing with one of many early builds, long before ship code.

BG - The link is broken but I was able to search on you tube. You may want to re-link the page or whatever the nerds do.

Damn Boy Genius, are you ever going to hop off AT&T’s dick? Cause you sure do ride that thing like you OWN it. How do you know if this device sucks? You sure as hell haven’t go ahold of it yourself, ROFLMAO. You’re going by this vid, from the guy? Seriously? If that the case, it shows you really are an AT&T Dick rider.

There it is. . .RIM’s first and last all-touchscreen phone. The video is juvenile, like the product, but that’s what happens when your software experience is as limited as RIM’s. I guess it turns out that that trademark physical keyboard and buttons is more of a crutch than we all realize; that navigation is no bug after all. Now if this is in fact a very early build (which would make me wonder how this guy would have access), why would they allow a video to be released? We trust these people with corporate e-mail? Good call!

I doubt seriously that was a final-production model. RIMM is good at keeping you guessing until the end. Attend an auto show when they display concept cars! It not a final design, but a customer feedback forum. Its not uncharacteristic of a company to let photos, video, etc leak as a means to get customer feedback, especially if you are trying to be outside the box from your competition. I am still a qwerty keyboard kinda guy, but I may give this puppy a chance as my non business night on the town toy. Essentially thats all an Iphone is! I am am gonna stay the course and let RIMM continue to impress me with production models and not undocumented video clips.

Calm down buddy! Jump off Boy Genius’ dick for a second. Everybody has their own opinion when it comes to this kind of stuff. I bet that if this phone had an Apple logo on it that BGR and all the apple fan boys would be craving over this phone right now. They would think the phone is so intuitive. By the way, I’m not a blackberry owner and have never been one, but from what every OTHER insider has been saying about this phone is that it is a really GREAT competitor with the iPhone. That’s not proof that this phone will be great, but I would bet my money on the other insiders rather than AppleGenius… I mean BoyGenius..

People, people, people. Alright stop… Calibrate and listen… Or in this case READ! The lil star looking thing at the end of the title of the story, its commonly referred to as an asterisk. Im not too positive but when I notice one of those small stars next to something I like to read on and find out why that lil guys up there. Im shooting from the hip here and forgive me if Im wrong, but the asterisk is pointing out that the reviewer, who doesn’t sound like he made it out of community college, is the one who says the Storm sucks. So to defend the site that I enjoy and looks as though many others do as well, I don’t believe that anyone is on AT&T’s dick. People will always show personal preferences in writing in different ways, this doesn’t mean they’re biased. If you don’t like AT&T because they’re smart and get exclusives like the BOLD, than go to CRACKBERRY.COM and try to translate the hockey english and read about how Rodgers likes to rape cannucks. Have fun.

Canaccord’s report also mentions a leaked video of Research In Motion’s new touchscreen device, the Thunder/Storm, which appeared on Boy Genius Report this morning. The firm said it disagrees with the BGR review and having examined the device earlier this week, believes that the handset’s “physical and haptic feedback screen is quite novel and easy to use,
especially for typing.”
Here is the other side of the coin…

Tommy, if you have been around BG long enough you would know that he has been a RIM fan for a long long time. He does like the iphone at the moment but I’m sure it changes all the time. RIM has not been good in the last year so its natural for him to like other products.

I love that some people are bashing a phone that has yet to even be announced let alone close to being released. I’m gonna go with this guy is an idiot and prolly has one of the very first models like was pictured before. There is no way that RIM or VZW would release that.

1. So, Mr BrewNinja, aka Lee Almodovar, how’s the job search going?
2. Since this device is already in Vzw T.A., i find it hard to accept this is a recent version. Vzw is incredibly strict before accepting devices into T.A., and this babe-berry would not pass into that illustrious group
