T-Mobile goes live with 3G in Philadelphia

Slightly ahead of schedule, T-Mobile has flipped the switch on their 3G network in the Philadelphia area. This far, South Philly, North Philly, Center City, and the airport area have been confirmed to be running at full speed, while the rest of the area remains to be explored. This is good news for anyone currently sporting a handset from T-Mobile’s increasing stable of 3G-capable devices, and proves that the company is working hard to systematically take their major markets into high-speed data land in anticipation of the upcoming Google Android-equipped HTC Dream launch. Anyone out in Philly notice any 3G love this morning? Let us know!

This news pleases me. Although, T-Mobile, 2003 called, they still want their “high speed data network” back in other places!!!

Does T-Mobile USA offer any 3G device other than that SE tm506? I went to the store to look at it Saturday. No comment.

I was looking forward to the G1 pre-order but now I’m having doubts.

3G is NPT fully operational in Philly..Yet. They were testing the network for a good portion of the day on Sunday. They will be on again - off again for the next few days and should be 100% on by end of week/weekend.
