Nokia to Release 5800 Tube on October 8?

Nokia fans, don’t start doing your victory dances just yet. Would an October 8th release of Nokia’s highly anticipated 5800 XpressMusic “Tube” make sense? Hardly. The Finnish Internet Company hasn’t yet officially announced the handset and the rumored date is only one month away. Does that mean it definitely won’t happen? No. JAMP cites a “trusted source” in yesterday’s claim that the Tube will become available to the public early next month, at least in the UK. Hmm. Here’s what we know: The 5800 XpressMusic has been delayed, a lot. As such it is definitely possible that Nokia will rush its release by making an announcement and launching the handset within a month. While this isn’t typically its style (look at the N96), Nokia has seemingly made it a point to draw announcements and release dates closer together as we saw with the E71 and E66. The part that puts some doubt in our minds of course, is the fact that it just announced the N85 and N79 which theoretically will become available sometime later this month or early next month. While those two handsets are Nseries devices and the Tube is an XpressMusic device, we would think Nokia would separate it from the pack a bit and put some extra time and effort into the release as it had initially planned to do (Dark Knight, anyone). Then again, you never know. So we’ll see if this rumor gains some more ground over the coming days and weeks but our money is almost definitely on the over.

Why does this JAMP guy always steal other people’s news and post them without referring to the original author ? ? ? This is not the first time he stole a post of mine. I posted about this a few days ago, because coming up is a Comes With Music event and the Tube is a device rebranded from Media to Music.

I really do hope this phone comes out soon. It will be good competition for all the other iPhone competitors. Nokia usually does a really good job making high-end devices so I think this will be a good look for all the Symbian fans who wanted a touchscreen device.

I would definately prefer this over any of the iphone killers like the omnias of the world.
Symbian will definately run faster than wm6. If only the screen was bigger with finger friendly UI.
