Hey. This is not intended to be a full fledged smartphone. I’s supposed to be a normal form factored phone with some email function and a nice UI. SE always does a god job with their proprietary firmwares, so I don’t agree with all the people scoffing at something that’s just an ordinary phone done well.

It’s just a basic phone. If you’re not interested in using a pda this is a great little phone. Come on people stop your bitching about this phone being a flip. I love using my blackberries and smartphones and would never want a flip pda but on a regular phones that’s what the people want. Most dumb phone are flip phones now the samsungs, lg, motos and now nokias make flip phones.

So seriously as a tmo rep, this phone is a great addition to the lineup. the first 3g data phone, and it’s not a crappy samsung!! nokia built our 3g towers, where they at?

in markets with no 3g i believe across the board t zones does not work still. the phone was delayed two days because of this, you can’t access tzones at all, it’s the different APN i believe.

Now let’s see some touch pro love, htc.

the phone is a nice one
very good 2G and 3G reception
2G is on par with K790a
3G is slightly better than 3555
cable is not included, use the one for K790a, and get C902 driver from davinciteam.com
just don’t understand why SE don’t release driver to download
and, the phone uses a new APN, that gives me different IP
the only downside is the earpiece, it’s kinda low, a common problem on SE phones
HSDPA tethering speed is decent, 700-1000kbps over USB, around 500kbps through bt

Glad to see Sony finally decided to incorporate send and end keys in to their handsets again… so that’s cool.

Not bad looking. Not my cup of tea, but seems to be a decent phone all in all.

Now back to waiting for the Dream… YAWN.

Nope. Still saving money for my Dream (no pun intended). Also, selling some stuff on ebay and while I’d do a shameless plug here, I’m sure the BG staff will also be more than happy to give me a shameless-swift-kick-to-the-face plug too.

Anyhow, is it just me or do the initial photoshots of the dream make it look fragile, cheap, and well… um… plasticy?

This would make a great HSDPA tethering device on the go.

I’m not really into flip phones, but this one actually looks a lot better in person and in hand.

Menu UI is fast and intuitive.

Do not throw sticks at me, but my wife brought one home the other day to test it out from work, and it functioned a whole lot better than any of their walkman branded handsets. Step in the right direction for Sony as opposed to their beyond terrible W350 just released
