BlackBerry Storm goes into TA (technical acceptance) at Verizon, delayed 3-4 weeks

Here’s our latest info on the BlackBerry Storm and the fate of the device on Verizon’s network: it just went into technical acceptance at Verizon which usually takes around 3-4 weeks, and the device has been delayed internally by around 3-4 weeks while they work out the kinks (read: buggy and unresponsive) and polish it up. That puts us around a mid-November launch on Verizon. We’ve double confirmed that information, so it should be pretty accurate. Additionally, we heard from someone else that they’ve increased the marketing budget for the BlackBerry Storm just to give AT&T a little kick in the nuts for delaying the Bold so much. That’s not confirmed, still probably a little true, plus we got a chuckle out of that anyway.

Called a couple of VZ stores today and the reps would tell me nothing. Said they were on orders not to release any info until authorized to do so.
Later walked into a store and the rep said 11/15 was the target release date but they had to push it back by about a week. Also said the price was going to be around $250 (before upgrade) with a 2 year contract.

The iphone is a joke compared to the Storm, sure it wont get as much hype because its not an Apple product but look at the features ! its not even close. some one should let Apple know of this cool thing called Picture/Video messages they invented about 10 years ago……

I went to my VZW store tonight. They had a live copy to play with, but one of the employees took it home to play with! I was PISSED! They said they would make sure to have it there when I came tomorrow.
They also said they will be passing out vouchers @ 7AM Friday morning for the phones and open the doors at 8AM(regular time). The rep said they will run out of the phone, but they could order it and I would have it on Tuesday if I didn’t get a voucher. I get off work at 5:30AM, so I will be in line at 5:42!

I was on line at 5:45am, 11/21/08. I was first. 50+ people on the line by 8am. They sold out in 58 min. MINE, IS DEFECTIVE and waiting for a new batch. My send button requires a heavy push to activate. Otherwise it is a 8830 with bells and wistles and obviously better graphics.
