BlackBerry Storm goes into TA (technical acceptance) at Verizon, delayed 3-4 weeks

Here’s our latest info on the BlackBerry Storm and the fate of the device on Verizon’s network: it just went into technical acceptance at Verizon which usually takes around 3-4 weeks, and the device has been delayed internally by around 3-4 weeks while they work out the kinks (read: buggy and unresponsive) and polish it up. That puts us around a mid-November launch on Verizon. We’ve double confirmed that information, so it should be pretty accurate. Additionally, we heard from someone else that they’ve increased the marketing budget for the BlackBerry Storm just to give AT&T a little kick in the nuts for delaying the Bold so much. That’s not confirmed, still probably a little true, plus we got a chuckle out of that anyway.

ive had verizon for about 3 years now and have no complaints other than the features that they lock out on the phones. the network and customer service are far better than any other network ive had in the past. att, sprint, nextel….they all sucked on the network and customer service side. ill stick with verizon, and hopefully the storm will be out by the time i hit my renewal in 7 months!

How can you say BBs suck ? They run circles around the iPhone. The iPhone is a novelty. A toy. The Storm will destroy it. Bet on it.

While the dual CDMA and HSDPA of the Verizon Wireless BlackBerry Storm has caused a few double-takes, it’s the unique ClickThrough touchscreen display that has prompted the most column-inches about the smartphone today. ClickThrough takes advantage of the latest capacitive touchscreen technology and a layer of tactile sensors just beneath it; the top layer is used to gesture, scroll and highlight, while pressing down and through to the sensors gives true “click” feeling similar to that of the BlackBerry trackball. The system uses Synaptics’ ClearPad, a custom multitouch-capable module first seen on the Onyx concept.

I’ve done this before with VZW. I’m happy that they are all about quality. Been with them for 8 years now. I’m just ready to get rid of my 8830 and get a phone that finally has everything I need. I wish the information about the delay wasn’t true, but then again, if you’ve been with VZW for a while, you’d know that this is their modus operandi. Here we go again!

actually if you have one of the nationwide plans, you can add the unlimited email and internet to a smart phone or pda phone for $30 which is much better than what it was just a few months ago at $45-$50!

I have heard that retail on the phone is going to be right around $800…Not surprising since it is going to rival the iPhone, if not obliterate it off of the face of the earth. Hopefully when they release it, there will be a price break on it for us!!!

The storm can be Pre-ordered from Voda-fone by any existing customer in the UK. The full retail price without eligible upgrade is €400, which equals $600 US dollars.

everyones way exited about this phone but it could be better, ALOT better, the whole screen is a button and that will get very annoying and they’ll probably over price it because it’s blackberry AND i’m pretty sure it won’t beat the iphone. I have verizon and I was looking forward to this phone but not anymore after i heard theirs alot of bugs and how the userface is going to be.
