Samsung releases Windows Mobile 6.1 update for Blackjack II, for real this time

Here’s a bit of news for anyone that was frustrated by Samsung’s recent bait-and-switch with their WM 6.1 update for the Blackjack II. After yanking the software from their site last week, the manufacturer has finally re-upped the firmware update, bringing this much-anticipated upate to Blackjack owners near and far. We won’t bore you with the WM 6.1 specs, but we would suggest hitting the link as quickly as you can, as you never know how long Sammy will leave this one up.

Updated last night, followed directions on Samsungs site and all working fine - just have to re-install some apps here and there.

Did they make the process any easier in the week or so they pulled the update. I got a headache just looking at the instructions I read online after giving my Q9H the all too easy upgrade a few weeks back. Samsung needs to fire some software engineers or programmers I think.

Downloaded and installed upgrade 6.1 for Blackjack 2… took awhile, but worked fine… seem to have a problem with the calendar.. go into settings and tell it to open in month mode, but always opens in agenda mode… can’t get it to change… anyone else having this problem? Also, on the main display of pictures, how do I get it to default to the pics on my MD card?

Updated last night and working great. The instructions, while certainly involved, were not that hard at all.

I completely agree. While the instructions are a bit over the top but they worked fine for me. I also did the whole process on a Vista 64 machine and the modem drivers worked fine, too. I already have it syncing with my Exchange server (a total breeze) and my office via IMAP. I love the new interface and look forward to playing with my new toy.

I did the update last night and it worked like a charm. The instructions, while not formatted very pretty on the page, were actually quite detailed and helpful, unlike most instructions of this kind.

Not to start a fight - but If I don’t use exchange or some of the upgrade is there any reason to upgrade?

That calendar quirk is a problem with the new sliding panel display formats, it goes away on the other formats. At first I thought my button was messed up, then I tested the formats and learned that the sliding panel was fudging with it.

Hopfully Samsung or Microsoft notice this and come up with a patch… Meanwhile (Since it was annoying the crap out of me.) I’m using a different format.

So uh turns out during the update it decided to connect using CDMA or w.e

Meaning, I needed to find some driver for “samsung cdma technologies”

i then panicked as my phone wouldnt connect to my pc during the process.

Luckily i found some appropriate drivers (thank the lord) for it to connect to my pc and continue.

    Just a warning
