Video recording isn’t mentioned, but people have reported it in the betas. Is it in or out?

There’s a good number of people who have been using OS 4.5 with HTML emails for a while. What features are added since it’s officially supported, if any?

I’m looking forward to this especially html mail. I assume that you need the server update, so my ATT email will be html but my corporate email will not until the server upgrade, right?

    *sigh*,

It’ll be interesting only if it’s 4.5.0.76 and above.

I really don’t see why anyone cares if and when ATT decides to release 4.5 or for what devices. 4.5 has been officially out for a while for the 8100, 8110, 8120, 8130, 8300, 8310, 8320, 8330, 8700, 8800, 8820. If you have any of these devices, you should already be running 4.5

Where are the official OS 4.5 updates available (especially for the 8320)? All I have been able to find are beta versions scattered about.

Each OS is device specific. So if you have an 8310 and the OS is for 8310 you can use it regardless of what carrier you are on.

Look at the last bullet point “ATT Navigator for free maps”. What does this mean? Doesn’t ATT Navigator cost $9.99 per month? What do they mean by “free”?

It’s not “official”. Those are beta releases (though I think one or two European companies have released 4.5). Saying it’s “officially released” is VERY misleading.

    Big Papi says:

The 4.5 that is out is unofficial in the states. It makes sense for BG to not report on an unofficial software that will void your warranty at the major carriers. This being official release and coming to the carriers built in makes it a bit more newsworthy.

I have 4.5 on my 8320, HTML email is a godsend, I haven’t used documents to go much, but it’s been steady the times I did use it. The web browser is MUCH improved…makes Opera somewhat unnecessary…somewhat. Video camera…I hope with newer releases it’ll improve a bit, during the recording it’s crystal clear, but after playing it back, it’s choppy. I hope that fixed. I love the changes to media player too, no matter how subtle. Being able to just hit the forward buttong and back button without having to press the menu button is great.

I am thinking that you’ll be able to use it for maps (like google maps) for free but will have to pay the $9.99 if you want full navigation features. This is interesting. Is this offered now? I didn’t think you could get att navigator (telenav) without subscribing.

OS 4.5 is awesome, and yes, video recording is definitely IN. So is full-blown HTML email and browsing. I currently run 4.5.0.69, and there have been zero problems since 4.5.0.37. I’m on my fifth OS 4.5 beta. :D
