that is an incorrect statement. I have the 8820 on AT&T and I use wi-fi when I’m roaming outside the country to check all my e-mail and BB messenger and all that for free adn have never paid for a single kb of roaming data. all UMA does is allow you to make calls over the wi-fi network

I like the new color, but I guess its clear that the Bold won’t be released anytime soon. Maybe ATT will just keep dropping color refreshes of the Curve straight into 2009.

GPS + WiFi is not on the 8310 or the 8320, not a shock. The Bold has both, whenever that comes out.

Who really cares about this device going to ATT. It the same as T-mobiles 8320 just diffrent collar and most likly by the time this comes out Tmobile will have 4.5 approved for their curves aswell. I have been saying this forever but here i go again. With out a network that supports UMA why bother getting a wifi blackberry. The wifi on the blackberry not using UMA is limited just to hi-speed web browsing, email will still be using GPRS/EDGE. When using UMA, you will be able to use wifi to get hi-speed internet, email, IM and maps downloads. You can do the exact same things with wifi as you can do using just GPRS/EDGE. Being a rep for Tmobile I often have to explain to customer why they cant access their emails, maps or IM aplications using wifi if not subscribed to the blackberry servces.

I don’t think this effects the Bold’s release – it does however point out the Javelin isn’t coming to AT&T at least for a few more months.

It’s amazing that they cannot get their sh*t together with the Bold. We’ll have 4500 variations on the 83’s before we get a Bold.

The hell with that noise. Might be time to try Win Mo again and hang with the Q Global for a while.
