actually, the iphone was originally scheduled to be a cdma device featured on verizon, but verizon didnt think that it would meet their standards so they dropped it.

I really hope they announce support for Nike+iPhone. I have an iphone and the shoes and i am an avid runner. I know its a longshot but i would love the support for it. If the new ipod nano is compelling enough, i may just bite the bullet and buy one but the odds are it wont be. I guess ill just have to wait and see.

I doubt there’ll be a CDMA iPhone… I suppose even if there was it’d only go to like India or Canada, but not the US (and Verizon’s policies for accepting phones not their own is so difficult as to essentially be “no”.)

@Siam – Really? Who came out with multi-touch (to the extent of the iPhone) first? Who has Professional grade laptops that are 1″ thin. My 2yr old 17″ wide Macbook Pro is 1″ thin.

Who came out with Privacy mode for a web browser first?

Who made a successful regular-user alternative to MS Windows platform built on OpenBSD first?

Who has the #1 music selling service who also produces there own DAP that is also #1?

How about “Coverflow” on the iPhone? Did another phone have that?

I could go on for hours. Innovation and taking it a step further has been Apples strategy since Steve Jobs came back to Apple.

i believe that this will be a cool PR shindig for apple, but truth be told, i am not seeing very much innovation from apple as of late so it’s hard for me to get excited. i mean, they’re just repackaging what’s already out there but in a nicer-looking and shinier product. am i not wrong? please tell me i’m wrong!
