New Spy Shots of the HTC Dream G1; Get Ready T-Mobile Customers
Forget about the FCC specs and the blurry spy images that have been passed around thus far. Here it is T-Mobile people, the handset you’ve been waiting for. Behold the T-Mobile branded HTC “Dream” G1 in all of its screen-sliding, qwerty-rocking, Android-powered glory. Queue the sting ensemble. Shown here in white sporting what is likely a near-release version of Android, the G1 is basically exactly what we all hoped it would be. It’s not all unicorns and pixie dust however. As much as we can’t wait to see this handset released, the new clearer images do bring a potential problem to light. While it won’t be a deal-breaker for most we presume, check out the recessed area that the qwerty keyboard sits in. Couple that with the off-center design and reaching those top two rows on the right side of the keyboard is quite possibly going to be a bit awkward, especially for those with smaller hands. Oh well, you know you still want it. Hit the jump for some more quality shots of this baby in action.

It looks like it could be a potential for issues on typing but it’ll be solid as a rock, I mean my re-run Tilt att gave me after i had issues with the installation of 6.1 is a piece of shit but I can bend the screen to about 93 degrees before it can’t “tilt” anymore.

If you dont like the looks dont buy…so simple really. I’ll personally be on the phone to pre-order the minute it’s available.
For the longest time I have been waiting for a new phone to come out, something different, something revolutionary and this is what we get? granted the operating system may very well be revolutionary but HTC should have spend more time on the design of this thing…I will definetly wait for other android phones to come out, even if current customer can get this for only $150 pre-order, I wouldn’t even pay $50 for this hideous phone!
ummm..
am i the only one that thinks this phone is ridiculously hideous??
Please, please, keep in mind that these are PELIMINARY shots of a not yet released product. I have actually SEEN the final product, and is very much more impressive than this Tonka Toy/Fischer Price looking toy shown here. Granted, the final product STILL does not look as sleek as the iPhone, but aren’t there already too many iClones on the market.
so u have SEEN? the real product? and this is not actually it??
hmmmm…. PROVE IT
@ iphoneisbetter
Att is ranked 3rd behind verizon and t mobile nationally. Att’s network isn’t all that.
UGH! After such a long wait and T-Mo has exclusivity, which rarely never happens, they device has to look like this!
such a horrible, toy like design for a sophisticate UI.
Please introduce more Android handsets FAST!
Yes I feel like all of us here have been waiting for something nicer , better than the Iphone for a very long time.
So even if I personally love the idea of Android and have been waiting for this to come out a long time, if this is what the phone looks like then I am not buying it I’d rather wait for next January Xperia or something better looking than this.
Common ! are they kidding us? if yes than release the official pictures already!!
I think this is just a prototype. I’m hoping the HTC Touch Pro (HTC.COM) is the actual one there gonna use. I’ve been looking at it for about 6 months. I read somewhere (I think PHONESCOOP.COM) that HTC was releasing it to T-Mobile. Check it out!!
@ cacao
the reason people are so impressed by it is because its the 1st generation of Google’s phone software. unfortunately someone decided that it should be on t-mobile, and to configure it to terribly shitty looking hardware. so, us “phone nerds” arent really drooling over this at all.
this thing is hot im getting one tomorow and cant wait if u dont like it than ure a hater
how much does the behold cost
