PwnageTool 2.0.3 brings jailbreaking to 2.0.2
Have you been holding off on the 2.0.2 update for your iPhone for fear of losing access to your jailbroken apps and features? The wait is now over. The iPhone Dev team has just released PwnageTool 2.0.3, which brings full jailbreaking to the newest iPhone firmware. Sure, it won’t grant you unlocking access, but if you’ve been itching to free your handset from Apple’s iron fist this is a pretty good bet. Full features include:
- Support for iPhone/iPod touch firmware 2.0.2 5C1
- Updated version of Installer.app beta 6
- New .de localization for German speaking users
As always with these sorts of things, we council you to proceed at your own risk, but if you feel like taking the plunge, the read link below should help you along in short order.

The problem with these jailbreaks on 3G iPhones is that the Pwnage Tool (or WinPwn) does not allow the baseband to be updated so that a future unlock will be more likely. In these cases, those individuals who install custom firmware using these methods will not benefit from any tweaks or enhancements to communications and 3G connections. Those who use QuickPwn will be fine, sine it allows the update of the baseband, but they may not be able to unlock in the future if exploits in the older baseband are blocked in newer basebands. Sucks for all except for those who have 3G iPhones unlocked by Apple! It’s probably going to be a choice between getting better signals or unlocking.
