Perhaps a combination of the two technologies would be ideal. This way your phone/device can charge while you walk with the phone in your pocket, and can also charge while you’re in the sun.

It’s most likely kinetic energy. The same kind of motion used to power the Seiko Kinetic watches. However, these watches use so little power that just your daily routine will power them for years.

Yeah, this is pretty cool though! I mean, imagine an airplane trip to France and listening to music or using wi-fi on your phone or laptop… ah, I think I can die a happy man

That aside, what kind of motion are we talking about? I mean, can I just go driving around and get it charged?

yeah totally would rather solar powered charging but this could be cool if they optimize it
