New silver Motorola Q9h with Windows Mobile 6.1 hits AT&T stores

This one kind of came out of nowhere, but it looks like AT&T stores across the country are beginning to take shipment of a new version of the Motorola Q9h. The new handset is chrome/silver in color, and looks pretty good if the image above is any indication. To our eyes, it looks like a cross between the new Bold and the Verizon BlackBerry 8830, which isn’t a bad homage at all. Also of note, this thing is shipping with Windows Mobile 6.1 out of the box. No word on pricing or release date, but if you head on down to your local AT&T corporate store and tell em BG sent ya’, you might be able to walk home with one today.
Thanks, Conrad!

Ugly phone. I have WM 6.1 and all I can say is that it’s better than 6.0 but it still sucks.
WM sucks balls in any incarnation.
Pom: Don’t tell people to “fuck off” then you won’t take heat. It’s uncalled for. You should only say things like that to a man’s face so he can pound your bitch ass into the ground. Name calling on the net just let’s everyone know what a puss you must be in real life. So, to sum up: WM and POM suck balls.
I wouldn’t let this phone or WM6 suck my balls.
I have the q9h w/WM6 and there doesn’t appear to be an upgrade coming in my future anytime soon. My company also has ‘Good Messaging’ installed (security, corp mail, etc.) and between the fucker running WM6 and this ‘Good’ shit it can take 2+ minutes from power-on to usability.
Oh, and the battery life totally blows. Even with the extended battery I have to turn off just about every feature that could possibly use the radio to get more than a day of standby out of this.
While WM6 may be responsible for the really shitty battery life, it doesn’t account for the fucked-up USB charging ability — or should I say, ‘lack thereof’. If the battery falls below 2/3 you better have your wall charger around because having it plugged into the USB port on your computer only prolongs the inevitable: dead battery. I doubt it was a problem with this particular phone as this problem affected both this one and the one it replaced (it was stolen in Lisbon).
Oh, and as for WM, nice to see it hasn’t evolved any since my Dell Axim x50v from a couple of years ago. Doing ANYTHING requires a huge wait time as the app loads and god forbid you run any other app at the same time. I love how I can start IE, use the calculator and TRY to come back to IE but, oh noes! too late! IE has closed and you need to launch again. Fucktard of an OS. I’d rather run Symbian; it’s not Windows but it fucking works.
seems like a good phone but with no touch screen seems like it is a bit disappointing but has any one tried this device b4?how is the screen?i used to have the e680i b4 and it is very fine i hope it has a 3.5mm headset jackport
i will definately get thios one i already have the original Q9 so i will buy this aswell as the motorola Q11
