ooops sorry but forgot to add, what kind of hardware will this be packing? I know its using qualcomm chip but which one? and how much ram will this come with? I don’t want another dash(had a dash in the past it was slow and unresponsive).

hey guys question, if the Dream G1 is limited to current tmobile customers on september 17th will I have to renew my contract with them? Also can’t I just sign up for the data package while buying the phone and then later turning it off as the data package can easily be added and taken off from tmobile’s website?

What they mean is probably USIM (UMTS SIM Card – a.k.a. 3G SIM Card). at&t originally marketed sim cards as “Smart chips”. This was a dumb marketing gimmick to the American public who had no idea what a SIM card was. Later on they dropped the name and started calling it SIM Card. 3G SIM’s have more capacity (I believe 256kb) vs standard GSM sim cards. I hate when companies come out with their own names for things that are commonly known all over the world by other names (T-Mobile originally called SMS messages a “Ping Pong messaging”…

If THAT is what the Google Android G1 will look like, then I’ll say, “So what if it only has A-GPS, I’m getting it!!!” However, I am going to call that a fake simply because the phone looks too damned sexy. (I am afraid to believe that it is the real deal and be disappointed later on)

GPS ??

Of course it will have it or at least if it dosent than i dont know what the guys at HTC are thinking.

I mean isnt Android designed to work with google earth I heard tons of applications are going to be made so android can tell where you are where you friends are etc… if this dosent have GPS than we are basically idiots if we buy this.

I believe this will have GPS. My only source is a story on AndroidApps.com talking about a GPS-based game. This of course doesn’t mean the T-Mo phone will have GPS, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t considering it’s target competition.

reuvypoo… A lot of the current rumors say that it will be announced in September and released in October. Just because they asked for confidentiality until Nov 10th doesn’t mean they can’t release it sooner. In fact, you are pretty much guaranteed that they will announce it sooner and not let the first pictures of the device be the crappy FCC images. They could have picked a date a couple months after their planned announcement just to be safe…

Agree with Randy and Goclub , the diagram shows the back (Battery, Micro SD and SIM card)

Nothing about the front so it should be sweeter in the front , I have been waiting for something like this to hit T-mo in years, if the battery (in black) was the screen, that would of been a real disaster for whoever is involved with this phone!

On what are you basing your comments about screen size? There are no pictures or diagrams, that I can see, of the front of the phone on the FCC website, only the back and side of the phone.

YES!!!! Can’t wait to see what the final product looks like. This will probably be my next phone since the Bold continues to be delayed. I hope it looks similar to the HTC Touch Pro or HTC Diamond.
