Make Sure the World Knows You’re An Apple Fan, and a Dork
For some die-hards, having a glowing Apple logo on the back of your laptop is hardly enough to show the world that you’re “cool”. After all, In this day and age everyone and their grandmother’s nurse is rocking a MacBook. So when it comes to separating yourself from the Apple-wielding pack, here are a few suggestions from your buddies at BGR:
- Get an Apple logo tattoo
- Get an Apple logo tattoo… on your face
- Paint a giant Apple logo on the side of your house
- Undergo reconstructive surgery to make yourself look like Steve Jobs
- Mod your iPhone with a glowing logo on the back
While we some might say each of these options are equally ridiculous, a group of Russian modders would disagree; at least with number five. They have apparently perfected a case mod whereby the Apple logo on the back of the iPhone will glow when the phone is in use. Riiiiiiight. For the time being, it looks like this mod is only good on the first generation iPhone. Sorry kids, if you want to be this sexy you’ll have to sacrifice speed.

They are bias towards Apple. It cannot get anymore obvious than in the last couple months. The headline is trying to downplay the Apple love but you can’t escape from the truth. BG is a pro Apple website. I feel like I am reading Slashdot at times but with pictures.

WOW! Ease off! Who said Apple fans are dorks? Going to a bit of an extreme here? Don’t be mad just because you only started using Apple AFTER they became so popular. Try to suppress your embarrassing memories of carrying around a hp or Dell in college. I’ve been using Apples for 15 years and I still won’t buy an iPhone, because AT&T coverage sucks where I live.

Wow, all this hatred. I know I’m not the nicest person in the world – but wow.
I understand that Apple products carry a price premium over similar hardware but In no way do they produce crap. My MBP is solid, fast and with the new penryn – its much cooler. That and the screen is a thing of beauty. How many laptop manufacturers have 17″ LED backlit 1920×1200 displays? The overall design, layout and functionality in a laptop that’s 1″ thick.
How about one of you Apple haters name a company that produces a professional level 17″ laptop that is 1″ thick or less? C’mon, name one. Name a laptop that has a high resolution LED backlit 17″ display.
In my opinion, its well worth the money.
I think it’s a pretty safe call to say that any of us who mod consumer electronics just to be different are dorks. Oh, and if you catch feelings over the wording of a post title, you’re definitely a dork; you just don’t know it.

apple is for less smart media people. smarter technical or business people use windows.
lol, ok, apple is not for dumb people but guys, these two products serve different segments in a way. im not a techie but i think their processors use different instruction sets, each being optimised for what it does.

When I got out of college I used to design real-time process automation systems using QNX. I have used Windows (all version from 3.1), Linux (slackware, SuSe, Gentoo, Debisn, etc…), FreeBSD, OpenBSD, solaris. You name it, I used it.
I honestly prefer FreeBSD as an OS. Mac OS X is built off of OpenBSD. I get the nice GUI and a plethora of applications I use on a hard-core framework.
Also, they do not use different processors. Mac is all Intel. The same Intels Windows PC’s use.
In Windows vs Mac OS X, I prefer Mac OS X.
I agree with D Lincoln about the feelings part.
