Skyfire hooks us up with 100 beta codes, mass chaos ensues
If you haven’t been lucky enough to try out the awesome mobile browser that is Skyfire, now is your chance. We’ve got 100 beta codes which will give you immediate access to either the Windows Mobile or Symbian clients. In our usage, the Symbian version smokes the Windows Mobile version, but that might just be us getting excited. We’d love to see a couple changes to the client: local browsing history, more shortcuts, fixed menu layout on the E71, and a couple other things. But all in all, this is the browser to beat. Even though they use server-side rendering, we haven’t come across a single site that didn’t work for us, or didn’t allow us to navigate, enter text, submit forms, and hinder anything we wanted to accomplish. Plus, you can view full Flash websites. You can’t beat that. If you want to sign up, use the beta code “bGenius” (negative on the quotations there Skipper). Let us know what you think of it, ok?

I’ve used it for a while now. Maybe I’m the only one who doesn’t like it that much?
The problem with all of these visual (vs text) browsers on our little QVGA screens is the lack of a single column mode. For reading text, it’s just too much resizing and sideways scrolling.

Downloaded and installed on AT&T Tilt. Looks a little better then IE for Win Mobile. Haven’t had much time to play around more, but the zooming feature was a surprising hit

Ive been using this on my e51 for about a month, and although its not a terrible browser, it does have some quirks.
#1. the rendered pages are very fuzzy and hard to read. zooming in takes longer then I find acceptable
#2. compared to mini opera, this thing is dog slow.
#3. Ive lost the connection a few times, and the web page doesnt save automatically.
#4. flash videos are stuttery and not in sync with the audio.
#5. You cannot transfer bookmarks from the native symbian app to skyfire
If these issues were addressed, i would be happy.

Been using it since Beta 1. I uninstall and reinstall it and then remember why I uninstalled it in the first place.
If you browse a lot of flash or intense webpages, this will give you that ability on your phone - I don’t. But if you only do occasional browsing and hit mainly HTML pages with pictures on them, this browser is actually a PITA. Hard to explain, but it is. And where’s the tabbed browsing? The next version of PocketIE is supposed to finally feature tabs and auto zooming. I can wait for that.
If Iris could get rid of all the issues with their latest beta, I’d much prefer it for everyday web browsing. But it is VERY slow and crashes quite a bit.
I’m back to PocketIE and Opera Mini again.

No way will they be charging for it. IE7 Mobile is expected to support flash and silverlight.
The only thing they got is that you need to login into SkyFire for it to work, so I expect that it not only tracks where you are browsing they include a search facility right the main screen. Plus, it’s soo fast because it’s likely providing pre-fetch caching on it’s servers and providing some level of additional encryption to make browsing as fast as it does. Just my guess..

I have succesfully hacked skyfire well not exactly hacked. It is quite simple actiolly. All you need is an us mobile phone number and an e-mail you don’t need the sms the number is the pass. I will post a program that gives you those directly.
O and I am writing from skyfire. It is realy nice. How i figured that out siple this was only for americans. This means that it is something stupid. Then it hit me that the number must be the password. It took me 5 mins to get a random us mobile phone number to use and you have it.

This web browser is so buggy on a symbian phone that it crashes which also causes the phone to hang too… And i managed to get it without using a us number because for some random reason when i registered they gave my the code through e-mail.
