Skyfire hooks us up with 100 beta codes, mass chaos ensues

If you haven’t been lucky enough to try out the awesome mobile browser that is Skyfire, now is your chance. We’ve got 100 beta codes which will give you immediate access to either the Windows Mobile or Symbian clients. In our usage, the Symbian version smokes the Windows Mobile version, but that might just be us getting excited. We’d love to see a couple changes to the client: local browsing history, more shortcuts, fixed menu layout on the E71, and a couple other things. But all in all, this is the browser to beat. Even though they use server-side rendering, we haven’t come across a single site that didn’t work for us, or didn’t allow us to navigate, enter text, submit forms, and hinder anything we wanted to accomplish. Plus, you can view full Flash websites. You can’t beat that. If you want to sign up, use the beta code “bGenius” (negative on the quotations there Skipper). Let us know what you think of it, ok?

Is it Skyfire’s intention to keep this free or will it require a paid subscription in the future when it is officially out of beta?

@SaDude, email info@skyfire.com and include your registered email, us phone number you’ve registered with (highly required) and the code bgr provided, and ask them to update your status, they’ll reply after a day or two, i did that and it worked for me and got the beta instantly,

There’s a place where you can enter your email and re-send an SMS. That worked for me then.

Now my issue is that the Windows Mobile client thinks my username and password is invalid. The Forums say they’re working on it.

Fawaz is right…I too had signed up for the beta release, but several months ago and when I heard it was released and me with no sms to download, I was bewildered. I quickly went to the website and entered my email address as if I was registering again and immediately received the email to download. Skyfire is titties!

I’ve been using it for months now, and it is the best browser for viewing websites. Video flow is smooth (if u have 3G). But if you want to do some downloading of files, you really need to check out Opera Mobile 9.5 beta, it’s slow, it’s buggy as hell right now, but it is a great second browser.

I’ve been using beta 2 for few weeks. It’s decent. Sometimes a hog to load but once your in it’s good. Flash nice. I still use Opera mini for speed. I still have Opera mobile for a backup. And PIE is pretty much stock. So, check it out.

For those of you getting the error upon registering, the following, allows you to resend the registration confirmation SMS.

works like a charm after that…

I’ve have Skyfire since the first beta comes out, and I love it.

It does chew through my battery really quickly though, and it makes me Q get all toasty. I feel like a faster phone would make the experience a bit better.

    Flash is awesome, though.

Thanks BGR! I successfully downloaded it to my t-mobile dash. However, right now skyfire says that it is having issues with new accounts and logins, so at the opening screen on my phone when I am supposed to login, it tells me that I have “incorrect login information”. *sigh* I hope they fix it soon.

I am on a TMO 5.99 data plan and the app might need to have a full data plan in order to run. Anyway, I will try to get on wifi when I get home.
