AT&T stores getting iPhone 3G stock starting August 19th?
We’ve semi-confirmed this with two people, so we’re pretty sure this is legit. We got word that beginning August 21st all AT&T corporate stores will be receiving stock of iPhone 3Gs. The stock availability, as we’re told, is based upon existing direct fulfillment orders being filled. So while there might not be an abundant amount of iPhones floating around, this should make it a little easier on anyway too scared to go to an Apple store. What do they feed the people that work there?

UPS offers a discount with att and you can actually order them online through a special site. Anyone know any other companies that have this deal?

There are issues for those (me) that have a government discount… I HAVE to buy it from AT&T. Apple store said no dice so instead of AT&T/Apple making more money on me their lack of inventory planning keeps me using the $20 data plan.
I can confirm this is not a rumor and it is official we will start receiving 16GB (Black/White) iPhone 3G’s on the 19th along with any other Direct Fulfillment orders that were placed prior to that date.
When I worked there, they fed us bagels, Jamba Juice, and Monster energy drinks. But maybe that was because all those shops gave us free food.
In Greensboro, NC I confirmed with 2 stores that Aug 19th is confirmed arrival date for 3G iPhone. Only 16GB will be arriving first.
If I want to get a new contract with AT&T can I get the subsidized price at an Apple store or do I have to get it at the AT&T store for the lower price?
I would say either location is OK. However, if you have a FAN# (employer discounts) or switching service from another provider, att store is better choice, as apple store cannot do much with att internal systems.
Don’t be surprised if you have to pay premium for iphone as att will check credit and if one is not a A rated in their book, they may ask for sec. deposit etc. upfront.
got mine last night. White 16GB. No lines, no pre-order. Walked in to ATT store, 10 min. later I was using my new iphone. Seamless unlike the first time with itunes mess.
I checked with a couple stores the other night and they both had over a dozen 18G’s. They did not say how often their stock will be replenished for sure (one store said every other day but I don’t know whether that was a guess). Hopefully when I go in tonight to get mine, they’ll have them. I have my list of stores printed though!
I already got a credit check through AT&T and SURPRISINGLY (I was seriously laughing with shock), I owe no deposit. Would it be the same story at an Apple store?
