Sony Ericsson W760a Making its Way to AT&T

It looks as though AT&T customers will likely have a new Walkman handset coming their way shortly. While nothing has been officially announced by AT&T or Sony Ericsson, the first live image of an AT&T-branded W760a is now making the rounds. The colorful Walkman handset made its way through the FCC approval process and emerged a few weeks ago, though its destination was unknown. The new image pictured above however, clearly shows the AT&T logo on the lower left button beneath the screen. You know, where that oddly-formed arrow has been photoshopped onto the picture. Assuming it is real, AT&T customers should have a sleek new 3G Walkman phone coming their way soon enough. Spec details are very limited right now, but here’s how they look:

  • WCDMA 850/1900
  • 3.2 Megapixel camera
  • Stereo Bluetooth
  • Built-in GPS receiver
  • MP3 player
  • Stereo speakers
  • FM radio with RDS
  • Integrated motion sensor

Not gonna hold my breathe. We had posters showing the 5.0 mp SE k750 and that phone eventually got shot down.

    I’ve had a W760i for a while now. It’s a nice midrange device.

They will pick this up, it’l replace the w580i, and its 3g. ATT needs to get all their devices onto 3G so they can (and have more reason to) push 3G network more.

I don’t like the speaker grilles that probably don’t work around the send/end buttons.

This phone will do well, I sell a lot of them unlocked as it is. it is one of the most popular Sony Ericsson phones that I sell, up there with the 702 and 902.

The specs call for WCDMA 850/1900
I thought that AT&T is GSM not CDMA
    Is that correct?

W-cdma is not the same thing as cdma. and yes, att uses gsm for 2g and w-cdma for 3g

WCDMA is a GSM protocol for the UMTS network. So it is a GSM phone.

If this is going to replace the w580 then chances are its going to have the same screen issues that the w580i has as does the old z525a. Personally as a tech support guy i think that Sony Ericsson products are the worst quality.

The W760a is coming to AT&T, initially was suppose to launch Oct. 10, but didn’t make it. Stores have already begun to receive their demo devices so it should hit stores very soon.

Will not have the same keypad issues as the W580i.
3G, Stero Bluetooth, Tilt Gaming, GPS built-in, Video Share,

Top two buttons above the screen act as easy access buttons to the media player and the right is for your photo albums.

    Still contains the FM radio!!

Will come in three colors - red, black and Rocky Silver!

This device is going to be AWESOME!
