Fantastic; I Am Rich Video Walkthrough

You remember the I Am Rich application, right? Of course you do, it’s the one we told you about last week. As horribly lame as it was, it ended up teaching us quite a bit. No, seriously. First of all, it taught us that Apple will seemingly approve any app out there so that it can collect its App Store entry fee. Apple will also shamelessly pull an app without giving the developer an explanation, as it did a few hours after we posted about I Am Rich. We also learned that there were eight people in this world dumb enough to spend $1,000 on this app; some accidentally and some reported to have done so intentionally. After all is said and done, we now get to see a great walkthrough to this controversial app and we’ll be damned if it wasn’t worth the trouble. Our favorite “feature” is the mantra:

I am rich
I deserv it

I am good,
healthy &
successful

Yes, for $1,000 you can’t even get a typo-free mantra. Too funny…

They should call it “I am proving PT Barnum right”. He said. “There’s a sucker born every minute.” Eight of ‘em so far. Or maybe call it the Gordon Gekko app. GG, in the movie Wall Street, said, “A fool and his money were lucky enough to get together in the first place.”

Let’s just hope that DuhBya can figure out how to turn the light off. ;)

    @Blackula,

Are you implying that there are no lame ripoff apps for the BB platform? or that there are no boneheaded BB users?

The thought that he’d offer a cracked version of the app made me wonder if he’d “improve” the spelling and punctuation issues.

I remember once putting a freeware adventure-style game on a computer configuration for college students, which had the word corridor all over it misspelled as “cooridor”. My boss made me go through with a sector editor and replace every occurrence of “cooridor” with “corridor”. At least it was the same size so I didn’t have to worry about that.

I bought this app. Wonderful little status symbol. The “deserv” was fixed in an update.

I’ll say this for the developer. He made $8000 and proved my dad’s adage: “Never underestimate the stupidity of your fellow man.” I bet he’s laughing all the way to the bank.

There’s an app available for the Internet Tablets called “I Am Free” that does nearly the same thing, except it doesn’t display the misspelled mantra at all.

Some people are afraid of iphone …
iPhone dont bite you and dont spend your money …
iPhone does what the owner ask to do, if there is people without brains that purchases software for iPhone, what can i do ?

I work with iphone, i play with it, i have fun few time irritated, and i never spend 1 cent in software, there is enough freeware softwares available.

some people dont know what to do with the money the have, so they are dumb enough to give $1000 for nothing
