Sony Ericsson TM506 to be T-Mobile’s first HSDPA handset, welcomes back Sony Ericsson into their lineup

This one’s been floating around a little bit, but somehow, someway, Sony Ericsson is making a return to T-Mobile USA. Plus they’re the first HSDPA handset to launch, too! The specs are not incredible by any means, but for just an average phone, they’ll do just fine. Here’s a recap of the specifications:

  • 2.0 megapixel camera
  • Tri-band 850/1800/1900 GSM/GPRS/EDGE (boo!)
  • Dual-band UMTS/HSDPA 1700/2100
  • Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP
  • microSD slot
  • Video recording
  • IM

If you’re feeling up to it, you should be able to snag one come September 3rd, for a price not yet determined. Who’s going to be the first taker? Full size image after the break…

This is a decent start….But T-Mobile is playing catch up…..So bring on the the 3g winmob or android joint then we can talk about me spending some dough.

    Hi,

I’ve tried reaching you via email but I haven’t received a reply. Perhaps I ended up in your spam filter. Anyway… I work with a client who would like some exposure on your site.  Preferably in connection to when you do a review/post about a product.

My client works with tech gadget reviews and they would blend in great  with your site. If you are interested I can explain a bit further about what I have in mind.

    Regards,
    Will

The first HSDPA phone, not the first UMTS phone. Subtle, but important difference.

Why is this a surprise?? 900 is useless for T-Mobile in the US as it is a Euro frequency so they just want to cover their bases in the US (1900/850 GSM)

High-end flip phone? If it’s not too big, this might be the phone I’ve been waiting for. I like my current flip but need to upgrade.
