iPhone game developer? $10,000 - $25,000 sound good?

Instead of hunting down people left and right, we figured why not post this here… We’re looking to create an OpenGL-based multi-level iPhone game which will make full use of the accelerometer. We’re talking heavy 3D graphics, a lot of OpenAL audio, and some other stuff. Think you’ve got what it takes? We’d love to get going on this. Shoot us an email at iphonegame at boygeniusreport dot com with your resume and mad coder skillz and we’ll get back to you!

Negotiating doesn’t seem to be your strong suit. Why would someone accept $10K (the bottom end of your range) when you’ve admitted you’d be willing to pay $25K?

Uhm…maybe because the price range depends on the complexity of the game…

Well, I only know how to do web programming… Doh! But, I do have some pretty good ideas for some games if anybody wants to take a crack at them :) Just email me and we’ll split the 10-25k (plus, I still need a new phone… my current Nokia is resetting arbritrarily).

Dude, am also hunting for a developer myself, the app store is big business, i heard of people that though they wouldn’t be making the $250 that’s required to get your first check, making up to $3K a day, that’s Crazy cause most of these apps are not that great, but hey they are in front of more than 10 million iphone and ipod touch users and mostly all of them are starring at them

well, considering the problems that iPhone developers, notably the “Fucking NDA,” have fun with that.

You’re not too smart are you? The NDA has nothing to do with applications that can be developed, and developers can work on whatever project they’d like. It’s about the information of that project being shared as well as Apple’s SDK information. Apple’s NDA has nothing to do with a party hiring a developer. Freak.

Why would anyone who knows C++ and OpenGL bother working on a crappy apple platform when they can create KICK ASS games for the PC using VS2008 or Borland?

Because there is a huge consumer base and a there are people willing to buy anything… just look at the eight douchebags who bought the “I Am Rich” application before Apple took it offline.

I have a friend that is averaging 5,000 every 2-3 weeks… so it’s worth it.

AppStore is becoming AppBore. The quality of the games being offered so far is so sub-par.

It’ll take a few months before the real good quality games and apps make it onto the platform. I’d venture to say that by Thanksgiving day the quality of available apps will be much improved, and the “freaks” who’ve built the crappy current crop of apps will be hard pressed to meet the quality of the professionals.

@BG, you’d be better off spending that $25K on a good design team, and give them a slice of the action (back-end residuals)
