I think the shape is very sexy, I also like the surf-A1300. Hope this positive comment will help convince moto to make these phones a reality. To me vertical qwerty is much easier to use when you’re stuck in traffic(all the time in LA…haha) you only got one hand & can’t always pull over. If you’ll noticed, most of the successful vertical qwerty phone(blackberrys)looks a little bulky because of user-friendly full qwerty, but not very pocket-friendly. I like the curved keys layout because it uses less space so the phone don’t have to be wider than it should. Slider phones are always easier to answer incoming calls without looking than flip phones or touch screens. my 2 c

Did you really see it? I’m sure moto won’t dissapoint with design and it will look nice and sleek. And did you see the Atila? Any idea when they will release it. To all moto haters :

Well I saw it and you dont really have to get dissapointed. Its not as wide as shown in the picture and looks/works awesome.

If it has a NVidia chip, i doubt it will be usefull becous there arent many apps for Windows Mobile and there isnt any app with 3d graphics and i doubt that there will be made much 3d apps just for this phone, cus this is the only phone with an nvidia chip (or maybe there is another phone with an nvidia chip i dont know about)

It must be a touch screen. If not, it is a ridiculous design. I own a 2nd gen moto Q. I could not see myself upgrading to this thing. With a vertical slider, the device is just to large. If this is the successor to the Q, I will switch to another manufacturer.

Why do you all insist on commenting on a device that will probably not look anything like this when its been released, the buttons will probably all be different, a decent photo of the front and the back may even go a long way.

I would save you comments for when there is an official spec/photo and not just a load of speculation.

This is why leaked photos dont do anyone any good.

You guys should give this phone a chance before you start hating it. Sure it’s not that attractive, but who’s not to say this is only a prototype? Moto’s got one of the best hardware designers around, I’m sure they can make it look better! And what if they happen to instal WM7 in it instead of 6.1? Just give it a chance.

Alexander is a code name, it won’t sell under that name. And that picture isn’t Alexander, there is some confusion somewhere.

Whatever phone is in that picture when it is released you can be sure it won’t look like that, all phones look different early on. You can fault Motorola software strategy all day, but they have mechanical design nailed. You don’t believe that, go to a store and hold a Motorola phone and anyone elses and you will notice a definite difference in materials and design.

There is also a chance that this is the MINI-IPHONE that is rumored to be getting ready to appear in England.

Its too small a screen for my taste but a fob sized phone that pops out a full keypad is something nice for a small pocket and then can be a cool thing to text away on…

Will have to see it in real life and not a grainy pic

Though I’m against the EMPIRE that MS presents (and now Apple is becoming EMPIRISH) but I dont think it is the same to say that WM is clunky because it is designed to be easier for OEMs to build upon…

HTC has done some killer WM phones by using WM as the base and then working their own skins on the top.

Stability also seems to be up there with the others.

My favorite smart phone was a Treo 650. I have been using HTC sliders and hate screen re-orientation. I think I would reserve judgement until I could hold it and try the keyboard.

As far as features go, it’s definitely a contender. The software is something that remains to be seen, but that aside, the look of the phone is way clunky! I don’t think I would get that phone because it looks too much like the old Blackberry 7320 (or something like that).

I’m surprise that no one mentioned that Motorola stole this design from the old school Audiovox PPC-6700. From the rounded edges to the keywords, nothing about this is original.

At least with the ROKR, they tried to come up with a design that was a little different from previous phones.

C’mon Moto, you just hired a new CEO for mobile, get him cracking at the whip!

Seems nice, but Motorola gave me a very bad first impression about the quality of their pones. My first (and last) Motorola was a V3xx. It suddenly died on me for no reason at all. I found out that other phone owners also experience this.

Never again will I buy a Motorola cellphone.

I don’t think I’d say this, but I think this could be an “iPhone Killer.” Not that it’s a guarantee. There’s a lot that Moto has to pull off to get it right, but they have the design chops to match Apple. They did do the first fashion phone, the Razr. Hate it now, but back in the day, it was style. It was what celebrities wanted to be seen with. If they can nail the user experience, they’ll have a homerun. And we know that Moto can get on any and every carrier like lightning. Moto can pass Apple in a heartbeat with their volume and constant refresh and reduction in costs machine. They will kill Apple with volume.

This isn’t to say that Apple won’t survive. But they will become an RIM, and reach a cap. Especially at the price.

What Motorola needs to nail is the user experience. Make it as easy and cool as the iPhone (even under a MS WinMo 6.1 engine). Diamond almost got it, but didn’t quite. Get it right Moto!

Wow, an NVIDIA chip. So it will work for a few days, then die — resulting in nvidia forcing Moto to issue a firmware “update” that compromises the phone’s functionality and kill its battery life? nice !
