Motorola Alexander live shot!

Remember that phone we told you about? Well, we got more info on it and it turns out that it’s going to be a Windows Mobile handset. Here’s a list of some of the specs we found:

  • Windows Mobile 6.1 (though it looks like Windows Mobile 7)
  • 5-8 megapixel camera
  • NVIDIA chip the handle 3D graphics
  • aGPS
  • Q4 release date

We’re working on some more shots and info, but until then… what are you thinking? Does Moto have a chance?

this is obviously NOT windows mobile 7. check out the softkeys – the plain black and the windows flag is exactly how wm6 (or 6.1) looks like. it’s more likely just another custom homescreen (like the sliding panels one on wm6.1 / the custom screen on the shadow or the blackjack).

the qwerty looks like pain to write on, and if it’s a slide-out device, it’s gonna suck in handling if it’s closed.

Poor Moto, they don’t have a chance anymore. I haven’t seen a fall from grace this quick since Britney Spears married K-Fed.

WiMAX World 2008 Conference & Expo will take place from September 30th to October 2nd at McCormick Place in Chicago. It is going to be the larges WiMAX event ever held. Motorola is the official corporate host and Xohm (Sprint) is the flagship service provider.

Why does everyone knock Moto? Samsung, LG, Nokia, etc… all put out bad versions of phones, but not everyone is bad. You are probably all the same people that hate Vista, but have never used it.

Looking at this device, it seems they don’t want to be in the Handset business anymore.
Perhaps they go down the same Highway with Siemens’ Handset Division.

The proof is in the pudding. Samsung, Nokia, LG they dont have to worry about going under, do they? Look at the phones Moto has come out with lately. Look at that pic, FUGLY!
And I have used Vista and it sucks!

What a sad little phone. After going to the iPhone this Moto phone looks like something my daughter would play with. Goodnight Moto, it was fun…

Hmmmm, its a Rimm, er an iPhone, NO Its a RIMM, NO ITS AN IPHONE.!!!!

Actually I don’t think its such a bad idea. Its an iPhone when closed and a Blackberry when its open.

The Windows Mobile think is a bad idea, but if that is all you got, I guess you got to go with it.

5-8 meg for a phone camera is pretty huge. I have to wonder how much memory is going to ship with it.

    We will see. :-)

It almost looks like the q9 and the v80 had a love child.

Hopefully with the graphics support they have, they’ll come up with something fairly flashy (ideally a cross between what HTC is doing and what Nvidia showcased sometime ago).

An iPhone it ain’t. And that’s the name of the game, folks.

If you want to hunt elephant, you need a .416 Weatherby, not a .22 bolt-action.

Moto should read these comments and kill the design before it hits store shevles. go back to the drawing board and give a new design. Kill that key pad, make it slide from the side.

If those specs (I’m assuming it has Wi-Fi too) were in a regular full-QWERTY candy bar device, I would think about maybe purchasing this phone. Unfortunately, Moto let a 13-year-old Miley Cirus listener design this phone. Awesome job, Moto.
