Remember that phone we told you about? Well, we got more info on it and it turns out that it’s going to be a Windows Mobile handset. Here’s a list of some of the specs we found:
- Windows Mobile 6.1 (though it looks like Windows Mobile 7)
- 5-8 megapixel camera
- NVIDIA chip the handle 3D graphics
- aGPS
- Q4 release date
We’re working on some more shots and info, but until then… what are you thinking? Does Moto have a chance?

I don’t know about this one. Every time one of these reports comes out about a Moto phone, I’m hopeful. But, they always seem to disappoint.
As for this one, I don’t really like the looks of that keyboard. The keys look, almost, too spaced out.
Overall, the phone reminds me of that ugly little Verizon Blitz we heard about the other day.

It has a chance alright, a chance to die. Personally I’m a guy who appreciates a company that both makes the handset as well as develops the OS it runs. They tend to be better products(i.e. iphone, blackberry, palm). In my opinion windows mobile is a generic designed OS to fit any makers product just to call it a smartphone. Write your own software motorola, then maybe consumers will take you more seriously.

Looks cheap and like a toy, those buttons look very recessed and small and the layout is just awful. That slide out qwerty slide never did well (see those Samsung phones that came out on Sprint and Verizon), also that thumbpad (joystick?) looks very hard to use for a windows device.

I think that this could be a good sidekick competitor. Especially with AIM for windows Mobile. Anyone agree?

That better be some kind of engineering mule, because the keyboard looks HORRIBLE! Seriously, I’d rather tap at a screen than have those keys.

A vertically sliding QWERTY? This thing is going to be huge, the specs are ideal but the design stinks.

Actually, that looks like 6.1 with the Napoleon’s modified sliding panels interface. If it’s really going to hit in Q4, I’d be shocked it it had WM7 on it.

It’s amazing how the specs for the phone could be so solid and the form factor could be such a travesty.
If I hadn’t seen that picture, I would’ve thought there was a chance that Moto was going to have a phone that was really worth talking about.
But that’s a face that not even a mother could love.

If they changed the shape slightly (I’m not feeling the curves) and did something about that god awful keyboard (think Blackberry Bold-type keyboard without spaces between the keys, looks more mature), my perspective might change but right now, I think this is Moto’s last hurrah

i think that vertical slide for qwerty is not the way to go.
it’s easy to see why, just look at your hands, now, clap once. you just saw a horizontal movement so that you could clap your hands.
it’s a matter of ergonomy, and, sense.
it just feels stupid to open up vertically if you will need both hands to type.
my opinion.

That is a sweet as piece of phone. I am in love and if the specs are anywhere near what they’re saying I’ll be sure to say hello moto.

The overall look of the phone reminds me of the Siemens SX66 (Blue Angel). If the keyboard is anything like the one on the SX66, it will not be good.

It’s a sad looking device, I think they should hire a 3rd party company to do the external design like many mobile electronics makers do.
