T-Mobile launches BlackBerry Curve 8320 Sunset, hawla
Like our Best Buy ninjas in blue didn’t out this one already… Oh well. It’s always nice to see some more color choices on T-Mobile, though. We were getting pretty darn tired of the gold and titanium Curves. The phone will be available starting today at all T-Mobile retail stores and over the phone for $149.99 with a 2-year agreement. We’re waiting to hear back from T-Mobile to get confirmation of the OS, but we’re betting it’s going to run 4.2.2 even though our leaked doc says any BlackBerry launches before September will run 4.5. Here’s the full spec rundown in case any of you were MIA for the past year:

The BlackBerry Curve 8320 in Sunset is enabled for Unlimited HotSpot Calling from T-Mobile (previously called T-Mobile HotSpot @Home) offering great mobile coverage and unlimited calling over any accessible Wi-Fi network and at all T-Mobile HotSpot locations across the country. When leaving home or a T-Mobile HotSpot, calls are seamlessly transferred onto T-Mobile’s wireless network, and the same is true for transferring calls from T-Mobile’s network onto Wi-Fi.
The BlackBerry Curve 8320 in Sunset includes a 2 megapixel camera, music and video multimedia player, a microSD expandable memory slot that supports up to 4GB of memory and stereo Bluetooth® as well as HTML Web browsing at Wi-Fi speeds, personal and corporate email and built-in spell check.
It will be available at select T-Mobile retail stores and online at www.t-mobile.com for $149.99 with a two-year service agreement.
Are the little raised strips on the sides of the screen to protect it?

Alright! So cool.
I just switched from AT&T to T-Mobile yesterday because I kept dropping calls all the time.
I just picked up the Titanium Curve. Hopefully T-Mobile won’t give me any beef about switching them out.
So far, I’m loving the call quality. I’d love it even more with a Red device to go with it.

To hell with the Curve and Bold! The real jewel is going to be the BB Thunder! I would expect the Thunder to have all the same specs as the bold + then some. Come on BGR, we need more info on the Thunder!!
BTW, isn’t it sad that AT&T customers are having to switch to TMO because of dropped calls and poor call quality?!? Bars in more places…yeah right! I left AT&T five years ago for the same reason! However I went to VZW.

Is this the best Monday morning online gadget news available?? Who cares about this old *** phone. Honestly, I cannot believe 1) its still being released in different colors and 2) people are still buying the damn thing. THIS folks is one reason why it takes carrier and manufactures so damn long to release new stuff. If the old equip is still producing decent dollars it makes sense for them to squeeze every dollar out of it before they have to introduce a new handset…

Sadly, RIM is starting to look like Motorola and the RAZR - or - dare I say - Palm.
I’ve been carrying a BB for five years and can’t imagine using anything else. But c’mon - how about a new phone? Not an old phone switched to CDMA. Not an old phone in a new color. An actual, honest-to-goodness new product? Please?

…and 3G is the most overrated feature available. Coverage is spotty even in the biggest cities and it’s not THAT much faster. Nothing’s funnier than watching fanboys get all jacked up about loading a page .359 seconds faster than a standard connec.

It is great that you can’t imagine any way your Blackberry could possibly be improved.
Others see lots of opportunities for new features and improvements, both in hardware and in software. But if new colors on a two year old phone are enough to thrill the masses, I guess there is no reason to do anything else.

This is getting stupid. There should be a blackberry with the same layout as the treo. Give it a 400×400 touchscreen, OS 4.6, wifi, qwerty thumbpad and position it next to the bold. That will be news. Iphone copycats suck mostly because the iphone is not the perfect phone to copy.

EX-ACT-LY. I don’t even care about 3G. I can check anything important I want on my phone with EDGE, otherwise I can wait until I get home. How much do you want to do on a little ass screen anyway (compared to a laptop or desktop).

I would jump at it. You could dial phone numbers on the touchscreen instead of the tiny number keys but a full qwerty pad for email. Great BB email features, made smaller and lighter and thinner than Palm.
