New 60GB XBox 360 hits Amazon’s virtual shelves
Just a bit ahead of schedule, Microsoft has released its new 60GB XBox 360 into the wild. The freshly upgraded console was set to be made available on the 4th of August, though many expected it to drop as soon as retailers were able to move the older 20GB model off their shelves. The new console is a pretty minor upgrade over the old model, with the 40GB of extra storage serving as the only significant change. Amazon is listing the 60 GB model at $350, which is in line with what we initially expected. if you’ve been holding off on grabbing a new console, now might be the time to take the plunge. Then again, if you haven’t jumped on the XBox 360 bandwagon yet, we’re not sure there’s much hope left for you.

New system? Is all the performance parts remain the same, just with a bigger harddrive?
No thanks, wake me when it’s got integrated Blu-Ray cased in Black and Red instead of that girlie white. I hate all the extra attention Apple gets but if they were in the console biz I wouldn’t complaining about this !@#$.
IF this model doesn’t tickle your fancy, hold out for a little longer. Ars Technica had a mole tell them that price cuts are on the way for all of the Xbox 360 models around early September.
