Well said, USA. Although I do agree that we as a culture have an issue in that the corporate world targets the idiots in our nation, and its only making people dumber.. They especially like catering to the black crowd, exploiting them by making products shiny and advertising them with other black people using them… If that makes any sense. Blacks, whites, latinos- We’re all being exploited thru advertising!

But in all seriousness, America is dam fine place to live and I would not want to be raised anywhere else. Instead of acting like (this is for you shmorg) you aren’t an American by stating that the rest of America is full of dumba**es, maybe you should jump the ship- It seems to me like you’re the ignorant one anyway.

I totally agree with steve. I used to carry Verizon, and its not hard to spot how the carriers charge their customers top dollar for something like phones. When the LG Chocolate came out for examle, it retailed for $349.99, at his time, my cousin was over here from the UK and saw the ad. She said, “$350 for the chocolate? Voda’s giving them away for free cause they’ve been out for soo long.” Don’t think I’m picking on verizon here but they’re notorious for their crippleware on their phones (bluetooth object push). I think the american people have had a lampshade put over their eyes by not just the carriers , but the FCC because they have to “approve” the device. In my eyes, if the device is good enough in 120 other countries, should’t it be good enough for the US. It is nothing but greed. Althogh i work in wireless, I sympathize with the consumer because I pay bills just like all of you. The only thing good about corporations is that it’s easier to return stuff.

I applaud best buy/carphone warehouse for bringing over unlocked phones like the N95 because it pulls back the curtain the FCC and carriers have in front of us, the American consumer.

A customer of mine from Belgium made a very good point the other day. He said “For a country built on the ideals of freedom, it’s ironic that you have so mny restrictions (Locked Phones, older handsets,
CAMERAS 1.3-2mp vs 5-8.1mp)

We can all make a change. Instead of biting at each other, we should be biting at the government. We pay our taxes, it’s our right. When enough people stand up, there will be a change. I’m hoping that change comes soon (cause the N96 looks awesome haha).

Couldn’t agree more. It seems whenever you read anything on the international scene these days, the US government and its support of the American phone companies, the industry in the USA is viewed as archaic and out of touch with the rest of the world. Most all of the US carriers are viewed as predatory and virtual thieves when it comes to offering their customers anything from phones, to accessories, and of course decent service, which is among the worst in the world considering that the USA is considered to be a world leader – the operative word being ‘considered’. The reasons are simple. The US phone companies use every opportunity to manipulate the rules by having many politicians and bureaucrats in their pockets, so to speak, which ensures that they will dominate the market and gouge their customers for every nickel and dime they can steal. Some will disagree, and are probably ‘plants’ for the phone companies. All one has to do is study the actions of the phone manufacturers. They always introduce their best products in other markets outside of the US because they the phone carriers in other parts of the world don’t strip the features out of the phones and try to sell them back to the customers at ridiculous premium prices. And they don’t demand that the phone manufacturers ‘modify’ the phones so that the carriers can use every means to gouge the customers further. Greed is the only way to describe it, and it is easy to see where it has taken the US in the world market – straight to the bottom. The phone carriers are just one example of the result. Shame!

I would like to buy this phone, but I`ve heard so much about bugs and sluggish on it… While reading this page, most of what I red seem to be fixed in the new version ! How can I be sure to buy the new version (of ROM) on the net ? Or maybe it is just important to update from a site you gave the link below, whatever the version of Diamond P3700 you bought?

Hi all,

No doubt HTC Diamond is a great performer and its relatively fasted compared to its predecessors despite running WM6.1

But for that many features a 900mh battery is just a ridiculous move.

I used this phone for 15 days flat…
My average is around 30 Calls a day…which is nominal for a sales guy
Very Limited Edge usage may be around 15 to 45 mins
No gaming
No Camera
No Music

But still…The battery beeps at around 3 in the evening!

Going out and living with a charges is pathetic!

Just dont buy this! If u really love it, buy it with the expanded battery available at an extra cost!

OK, for the newbs…

BGR used to be a different type of phone enthusiasts site. They had gadgest way ahead of anyone with lots of photos and cutting edge reviews. It wasn’t a mainstream site like it has become.

The sexy girl that was always taken with the phone I believe was BGR’s girlfriend or some close aquaintance. There were also pictures of the phones taken with really expensive cars. It was different.

The site has become boring and lately, 4 days late. The crowd that used to frequent BGR have moved on to the sites that have the news that BGR seems to be leaching it from.

To say that you don’t want this site to be an XXX p0rn site, it proves you haven’t been coming here for very long, else you’d remember the old site.

I also remember when BGR got banned from other forums. Do you?

The Australian version of Touch Diamond will have 850 MHz 3G support for the Telstra Next G network. It is coming this mid Aug. This version should also work for AT&T network. Check out the HTC Australian site for details.
