Maybe you should look at OpenMoko, the phones are great. Especialy if you like home brew. Compact, only two buttons, onscreen keyboard (that works). And you can get or write apps that allow you to do just about anything.

This is going to be an interesting move for google. I thought they are already developing their own phone and also the Android OS for other companies like HTC. Maybe this is a good thing cuz we need something else to distract us aside from the iPhone. iPhone related news is getting old, unless they are talking about iPhone 3rd generation, but that won’t be happening anytime soon.
