Navigate through foreign lands with the new version of AT&T Navigator

TeleNav Navigator AT&T Navigator has recently been updated with expanded coverage for international navigation. You can now use your supported handset to find your way around any of 20 different foreign countries, all for the low price of $19.99/month. 20 countries isn’t the most comprehensive collection of nations we can imagine, but it’s a decent start. The list includes a number of western European countries, as well as many locations near the Olympic sites in Beijing, China. $20/month isn’t bad, and until we can get some turn-by-turn support on our new iPhones, we’re pretty confident that Telenav AT&T Navigator is one of the best handset-integrated solutions out there.

Wait, so not only do I have to pay exorbitant data rates when using Navigator abroad, I also have to pay twice as much for the subscription.
Hmmm, CanisMinor does the math: I think I’ll just slip in a Vodafone SIM in Europe and get there free navigator. Elsewhere, I’ll download Nav4All…

when we tested the app, I experienced an average of 100kb or less during a 60-day trial period…that small data usage is by design to limit the international data usage, but still deliver a great user experience and intuitive user interface…AT&T is the FIRST wireless carrier in the industy to offer a global GPS navigation product, so if you do lots of traveling, as BGR stated, $20/month really isn’t that bad…
so, you plan to use Nav4All? Good luck! We also tested that app, and it was a horrible experience…poor user interface, and it never got me to the correct destination. Not saying that AT&T Nav. was perfect, but def. twice as better…

Lol I bet it depends on cell tower trianulation too the sounds wya too much like a verizon navigator wannabe wich is still bad this will be the reason I keep my 8800 around built in gps plus google maps ain’t half bad and it’s free.

When the 8820 came out on AT&T the Telenav version, for $9.99, worked in Europe. Unfortunatly I had to do a warranty exchange on my phone and when I re-loaded Telenav I got the crappy AT&T branded version that was only good in the US. Total rip off!! I quickly canceled my service. Anyone paying $19.95 a month for this service obviously has money to throw away!

Don’t forget, it’s free for the first month. So if ya have a device with GPS in it, try it… you’ll like it. Beats google maps hands down.
Works great on my 8310, and Tilt. On the latest version it even has voice input, so you can speak the location to it.
Since it’s not a subscription, but just month to month, theres nothing to stop you from just subscribing for a month if you know you are going to travel a lot that month.

Well while a tourist in other countries you usually walk or taxi (especially in Beijing where taxis are cheap), so I hope they have good support for that.

Visiting London recently I used my BlackBerry with Google Maps and only cell tower triangulation and it was enough to keep me from getting lost!

After paying for World Connect and International Data Roaming on AT&T… then having to pay another $ 20 for this, AT&T is really making out like a bandit on the suckers.
Sure it’s probably useful and I know there will be those who pay for it and that is why AT&T gets away with selling it at that price.
With all the money I pay AT&T each month, you’d think they’d let me use the FR voice codec all the time but instead I’m forced to use that HR crackly garbly one. You pay full price but only get half rate service.
When my contract is done, I’m heading back to Verizon Wireless. I don’t mind their rates because at least their network makes up for it around here.
