Depends on whether or not you actually want to use it to TALK to someone on it. iPhone is only ATT and their coverage SUCKS. Driving from one side of town to the other, you lose connection repeatedly and if you are going out in the country between urban centers, forget it. Other than that, the browser and apps are a heckuva lot better on the iPhone.

I had a blackberry 8300, I upgraded to an Iphone 3GS 32GB. Its sucks the power, Its not a portable device becasue you need to keep it charged. You have to go thru itunes to sync with your outlook and that is a hassle. And its not a true sync. Yes it has more features and apps, and you cna browse the internet, ect.. but you better have a plug close by to keep it charged, I am very disappointed with the iPhone 3GS

I’ve owned all 3 generations of the iphone, the Blackberry Curve 8310 on AT&T, the 8330 on Sprint, Verizon’s Blackberry Storm 1 and Storm 2. ( I returned the Storm 2 the very next day after purchase,)

For each of the phones listed, I have used the Otterbox Defender Case. There is no better case to protect smart phones. The costs online averages $39.00 to $45.00 but is well worth!

I heard they both can read Microsoft Office documents… now my question is: Can any of these phones be used to write small documents such as these Microsoft ones that you can read?
I’m a student going for medicine, so right now i dont need my phone to be necesarily for business and i am prone to get the funner one even if I love BB’s (they have never let me down from any point of view.)

… I think that for the sake of it and durability I’m sticking with BB… but if anybody can answer my question I will rethink.

I am also deciding between the two, and after reading the article look at it like this: if you don’t intend to make use of all the fun stuff that the iPhone offers, and are primarily using it for business, then go with the Blackberry. Personally I love the apps and I’m not a hardcore emailer, so I’m going with the iPhone.

Can anyone tell me which one i should get? i really can’t make up my mind.. i have used BlackBerry and i’m currently using an iPhone 3G. my iPhone just got spoiled that i couldn’t charge or connect it by USB on my laptop.

And now that i’m getting a new one, i don’t know which one is better between iPhone 3GS or the BlackBerry Bold? I enjoy iPhone more, but it easier for me to text by BlackBerry… what do you think?

I will have whichever my company gives me for free Actually they have just given me the bold (I am surprised the comparison is with the Bold and not the Storm). I must say the apps on the iphone seem way better. What I really need from these phones is a dual sim slot. I have never understood this phone war mentaility – as in 3 years both will have been surpassed and replaced

First, forgive me for my bad english, my native language is spanish.

I think both devices, out of the box are greats, but wen you make the iphone jailbreak (look for that in internet, is very simple with blackra1n), you can install a lot of application that can leverage the iphone functionality: iBluetooth, SBSprings, idock, for settings.

I think you can try all these in a week, before you send it back.

I bought an iPhone yesterday (10-26-09). It’s been a total bummer for me. When you have an iPhone, iTunes owns your ass. I had hoped to have access to the memory — similar to my digital cameras. I wanted to load files directly to the memory. So far — I’m locked in the “Apple vice”. No choices, whatsoever. I have a thirty day option period to return it. I don’t think I’ll need thirty days. It’s been a sad experience for me. I’d steered clear of Apple for 15 years, largely because of what I view as the “Apple Attitude”. I’m too old to put up with that. Surely there’s something with what I consider at least a modest amount of “freedom”. I had watched my brother operate his Palm Pre. It was sensational. I’m looking at everything now. Apple has been a huge disappointment for me.

Talking about push email. Push email still means push the battery to empty on an iphone, after all the 3.0.1.3.1.2.1.2.3.2.1.3.2.1.2.3 (REVISIONS) still can’t get it right. Try the Bold and behold, alakazam, your email is in there! and you still have plenty of battery life to play a round of golf and whack a mole (If that’s what you like)

Iphone 3G is much much much better that a blackberry…. blackberry’s are usually used for the thing they call ”BB code” or w/e but an iphone has many apps that you can use and it has a better design than the BB + it stores more things than the BB

I have been a loyal Blackberry user for several years and have traveled the world with the phone and it’s never let me down. Yes it has the best email service, hands down. BUT!!!! I have recently changed over to a IHhone 3G running the latest firmware 3.1.2 and I will says to those techno dweebs out there telling folks the Iphone is NOT is business phone are full of it, period.

I have a GMail account and I use the Iphones MS exchange interface to link my phone to my email and calender and I now the phone is a business tool that I can’t live without.

All my data is now in sync with the google server and all I use ITunes for is to back up my phone. You have to have the internet service anyway or whats the point of having the Iphone in the first place.

As far as AT&T is concerned, I was in Russia and Asia and it was the only service that worked without a problem. While my friends with the sprint and T-mobile phones could not get email or internet, mine worked like a dream so with that said, I am sticking with AT&T.

Once Apple has the push email problems sorted out, look out RIM. Your days are numbered.

Hello, I am currently considering an iPhone or a Blackberry, I have only just started researching and came across this review. As it is dated over a year ago can anyone tell me if the phones being reviewed are still the current models?

I want it to use as a phone,to be able to check and send emails (via a wireless connection) and maybe for music too. This is a difficult decision.

I live in Mauritius and the cost seems to be $500 to $600 or more – how does that compare to where you live?

If you’re looking for a great protective case for the iphone, check into the Otterbox case. It provides superior protection against drops. The only issues I have found with the Otterbox is that it makes the phone slightly bulkier and there are only a couple of car chargers that I have found that will work with the case on.

I have the iPhone 3G, just started my own small business and am looking at getting the iPhone3GS or Bold. I agree with the person who said the screen is a piece of shit. It is! I have dropped my phone twice now and have a ton of cracks on it. I like how friendly the iPhone is, but finding a good protective case that doubles as a belt clip is difficult to find. If they had more protective holding case options then it might be better. Still don’t know which way I’m going to go. I like my iPhone other than that, but having a tendency to drop my phones a lot lately and I can’t buy another one just to have to break on me again.

I am a new iPhone 3GS user and the phone does wonders for me, but I don’t think that in a comparison like this, there is a best phone. They both appeal to different crowds. It’s like a Digital Camera and a Video Camera. They both can take pictures and they both can take videos, just that they have different main purposes. If I were working right now, I’d get the Blackberry, but I’m not, so I’m sticking with the iPhone. I don’t see the need for such a huge debate.

Sorry, but I was merely emphasizing the “holier than thou” approach most of these BlackBerry “business users” on this site are spitting out in hopes of belittling the iPhone as merely a “toy.”

Both phones serve different demographics. It just so happens that the iPhone is starting to tread into the business area while BlackBerry has lost its “hipster” crowd. Can’t say that’s a bad thing per se, but it does hurt sales.

My point is that there is absolutely no reason to act like you’re the shit just because you have so-and-so phone.

You start your message off by attacking someone’s spelling/grammatical aptitude? You’re a college student, so i will forgive that and alert you to the fact that learning disabilities like Dyslexia DO exist – and therefore the inability to spell is in NO WAY something that determines a person’s intelligence. How offensive is it that you come out of the box belittling someone’s inability to spell? Is THAT what college professors are teaching you?

Spend less time snowboarding and longboarding and more time growing a sense of tolerance. i, for one, have Dyscalculia which is a math learning disorder (basically Dyslexia for math) and comments from people like YOU do nothing to further our cause and to dissuade people from such petty attacks.
