AT&T iPhone 3G shipment info

Tired of the onslaught of iPhone 3G news? You’re going to have to bear with us a little longer, friends. We just got word on some semi-strange but sensible iPhone 3G shipment policies. Here’s how it goes: AT&T stores have already received most likely two shipments of iPhone 3Gs. All AT&T stores will be getting a third shipment of iPhone 3Gs tomorrow, but there’s a catch. They can’t sell Friday’s shipment until Saturday. And guess what? There’s a fourth shipment coming Saturday, and you guessed it — they can’t sell those until Sunday. While this might mean some poor souls in line won’t be getting their iPhone 3Gs tomorrow, if they don’t get there early enough, it gives everyone who couldn’t scam their way out of work a chance to live again. What’s the verdict on the policy? Yay, or nay?

Thanks, Ronnie!

WTF, no one? Doesn’t anybody use any sort of proper English or spelling anymore? Why not slow down a bit and think about what you are writing so it makes sense to the rest of us?

I guess a good question is how many iphones are in each shipment? I mean if it several thousand or more I’m not worried but if its only lets say 100 or so then I say it its time to riot.

I can confirm that this is true. I got my hands on an iPhone 3G this evening at a pre-launch meeting. There was one customer waiting in line since 11am this morning!

ok, ill spoon feed you buddy,

they (att) will sell iphones Friday mmmk!? they will, come down, no one is saying they wont.

    HOWEVER!!!….. you follow so far?
they will stop selling that friday when they run out of the ORIGINAL shipment sent to them already to be sold Friday… good so far?

THEN….. follow closely now, gets tricky….
they will have to wait til next day to sell a NEW shipment they get on Friday itself til Saturday, they cant get into that stash to sell it Friday in case they run out until the following day….. same goes for the shipment they will get Saturday to be sold Sunday….and so on.

please tell me you got it now?!

Yeah, good question man. At AT&T stores, what we’ve found is an absolute minimum of 20 all the way up to 150 which are available for sale tomorrow. Very large AT&T stores might have more. However, we’ve heard Apple stores have got anywhere from 2,000 to 10,000 units in stock for tomorrow’s launch.

I rather Apple get my money than ATT. If I contribute my 2 shekels to Apple they might make even more innovative..cough, cough, software like MMS and Cut and Paste. Here’s hoping, praying, Hail Mary that Applications will fix this. At least I can SMS through AIM, Thanks God for that.

Talked to our Apple store in the Mall, they will prolly run out before we do at my at&t location. Also Apple stores can not process transactions on any Biz or IRU account. So if you have a work discount on your account you have to get it at a at&t store as apple wont have access to touching those types of accounts.
