Honestly, haven’t we had enough already? Giz, you don’t want it with the kid, I promise. I never said it was delayed, ever. I said it had major issues as any device four to five months out should! Never, ever, did I mention a delay of any sort. Instead, I actually repeated my previous scoop saying it’s on track for the same time frame we reported before. Please take a minute and re-read yesterday’s post again before complicating things and putting words in our mouths. You’re wrong. And you’re wrong about the name, too. Thunder is the codename. hey i have a verizon Pearl and it’s not ‘crippled with crappy interfaces.’ Verizon has great customer support and superior coverage (in my area especially)
I’m holding out for this Thunder-Storm because it looks like it has a good chance at matching everything the iPhone has. It’s one of the few things keeping me from switching to AT&T. But then again, who would switch carriers for a phone that will be out of date in a year or so?

Enjoy your iPhone. But when it comes time to upgrade to 4G (and when AT&T’s exclusivity runs out) we’ll see which carrier gets the first 4G iPhone. Apple tends to like innovators, which is why they wanted to partner with Verizon first. AT&T stopped being innovators as soon as the Cingular brand disappeared–now they’re just another GSM carrier that was lucky enough to bend over backwards for Apple.

Who cares if the Boy gets the dates wrong every now and then (listen to the podcast he said nov for thunder), the bottom line is HE broke the news about the devices like the Bold, the flip phone, and the Thunder.

Actually Rogers was advertising a late June release for the Bold. The ads were later pulled.
I wonder if it’s becase of technical issues or b/c they ahd to make nice with Apple?

BB_Smurf: Did you think about what you just said? If AT&T bent over backwards in Apple’s favor, well, they must not be all that impressed with the Bold, right? Either that, or they feel pushing the Bold’s launch back will piss off fewer people. (In case you can’t already tell, neither interpretation says much about RIM, especially if the largest carrier in Canada where RIM is based blows it off for the iPhone.)

I’ve never said that or assumed that. So, sorry if it came across that way. What I did was simply respond to two points made by Giz. One, that I was wrong on the Thunder’s current state, and that I was wrong about the name. I think we have a great track record here, but never said we’re 100%.

Umm…that was the Bold that he said was delayed until mid August. We are talking about the Thunder. Reading is fundamental.
A piece of advice for BGR…
If other blogs call you out, or question your sources, then they are basically admitting that you’re a leader and they follow your every move and post. If you’re wrong, they are going to take the opportunity to knock you down. It’s their envy that leads them to such actions.
If you’re truly a leader, you wouldn’t respond the way you did. You let the word out there get under your skin. Just continue to lead and let your posts with information that nobody else has do the talking. Sometimes silence is stronger than words. It’s obvious you have a strong following, but the ego needs to take a rest (why else would you post such an article).
BG is telling the yoyos out there how it is and how it is going to be. Stepping up and calling stupid out is part of being a leader.
