Ya, you can’t tether on AT&T. You can on Rogers.

Plus Rogers includes exchange activesync, AT&T doesn’t.

So clearly Rogers $30/6GB is much better than AT&T’s $30 for unlimited**

**not really unlimited, extra charges apply.

DID ANY OF THE AMERICANS HERE READ THEIR AT&T CONTRACT… THE “FAIR USE POLICY” FOR THE “UNLIMITED DATA” IS CAPPED AT 5GB BEFORE YOU GET CHARGED FOR IT… SO IN CANADA OFFERING US 6GB IS EVEN BETTER THEN THE AT&T “HOAX” PLZN OF “UNLIMITED DATA” AT LEAST HERE IN CANADA WE CALL IT LIKE WE SEE IT… SO THANK YOU ROGERS/FIDO FOR THAT EXTRA 1GB OF DATA THAT NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT LOL… AND I THOUGHT PEOPLE ON HERE WOULD KNOW THIS BY NOW.

Let’s Not stop with Rogers, chances are if we stop now, even if we were to get another wireless provider, they too in time would follow suit. Lets just put an end to this once and for all.
Help David Mcguinty do something about it with his bill to ban system access fees, put an end to charges that are not fully explained in your monthly charges and contracts

Taylor’s a freaking genius! Because yeah we’ll never be able to crack the 6GB limit… Just won’t happen in a new 3G device. Our Canadian internets is just better than the one down south. And because there is less up here and the neighbour is just 3 miles down the road we can’t have cheap data! Images are just a general description so you have to use your imagination so yeah… We won’t use 6GB is a million years. Or will someone crack it in the first month?

Your exactly right Taylor. Obviously us Canadian’s won’t use the device for data as much as our Amerikan brothers and sisters. I mean how much data can the average Canadian use when the main draw of the iPhone is the slender edges for use as a window scrapper when the old igloo gets a little frosty.

You can obviously tell we’ll use less data cause we aren’t constantly on Google maps trying to find Iraq in South America or surfing for the location of the nearest McDonalds cause heaven knows we wouldn’t want to slip under 300 lbs.

You see the thing is, Canadians use the devices less than the customers in the staes. 6gb is MORE than enough for the canadian user, In my opinion canadian’s have been acting like freaking retards protesting this phone when they have to keep in mind that time will heal all celular wounds. Blackberries were a house payment a month when they first came out and now its hard to go a day without seeing someone on one, the iphone data plans will eventually improve in time, and Rogers is doing something great by giving the customers 6gb for the amount of time.

Not to mention nobody can say that these plans are only temporary. I mean Cell phone plans alone are indecisive, so Rogers may see how much revenue can be had with this promotional offer and keep it there for the customers to get.

In my opinion everyone who has complained about the iphone should just shut the hell up and get a regular cell phone or shut the hell up and deal with the pricing. Because in the end it’s better than paying 15 cents per incoming text.

AT&T’s unlimited $30.00 plan is truly unlimited. The 5gb “soft” limit only applies to tethering/data cards. I repeat on-device data IS unlimited.

Feel happy for Canadians but the only thing i don’t like is how they have to pay for caller ID. If you used more than 6GB of Bandwidth, Roger is right you should get Hammered cause come on who in the world uses even 3GB on a smartphone a month, no to mention the iphone is WiFi has WiFi

I’m pretty sure that when AT&T says “unlimited”, they *actually* mean “5GB”, like most of the other cellular carriers in the US. So when you say that 6GB is “not even close” to the AT&T’s “unlimited”, you’re actually right: it’s 20% *more*.

But the real question is: has anyone ever actually used up all 5GB of their “unlimited” plan? I guess we’ll have to ask the question again when the higer data rates come out, but seriously people…

The “actually, no” in my first post was in response to the “this should make everyone happy” line – not Joe (by all means feel sorry for us )

This is just a smokescreen CYA maneuver on Roger’s part. The larger issues that make Canadian cellphone plans just plain horrid remain (e.g. lack of competition, system access fees, etc – I for one hope the iphone movement starts a larger one that keeps the pressure on).
