iPhone 3G unboxing, bitches!
Have you heard of the new iPhone 3G? One of our Apple ninjas came through for us, and we’ve got some unboxing goodness for you to enjoy. Yes sir — iPhone 3G is in the BGR offices! First impressions? It’s black and shiny. In all seriousness, it’s very sleek, the chrome buttons look great, and it feels just as good as the first one. Our unit is not activated though, so we couldn’t actually explore anything. But then again, we’ve definitely seen OS 2.0 before. Thoughts? We’ve got some awesome detailed pictures all up in our gallery, and we even included some sexy iPhone on iPhone action shots for all y’all wanting to see them side by side. Check it out!

I’ll forewarn everyone here, that this is no different than the iPhone you had before. A touch enabled expensive piece of eyecandy.
I can do everything on my Windows Mobile phone you can do on the iPhone, and some, such as torrents, IRC, and photo messaging VIA AIM. MSN, ICQ, Y!, etc.
Anyone who has really analyzed Apple can see, they have one hell of a design department, as well as a great (but assholish) PR department.
A breakdown of Apple product users:
10% Assholes who found the anti-windows ads to becool
25% Spoiled high-school kids with rich parents who just want attention.
70% Egotistical assholes who just want to show off old technology reused.
In reality, the iPhone has just put ancient tech into a hand held device, with telephony services. Anyone remember tablet PCs? Alot of them used the same technology the iPhone uses, just not the same way, more for precision (Seeing as currently, touchscreens use averaging versus point detection)
And to conclude and prove how stupid it is to really want something like the iPhone: I have had a Windows Mobile phone for 2 months. It was fun browsing the “real” web, talking on instant messaging, and so on. As of late, I use only 3 features:
Text Messages
Business Tools (Calendar, E-mail, Etc.)
Phone
Things my old shitty ass Samsung had, just with a cleaner interface.
Oh, and my phone is as shiny as the iPhone, and smudge free since I’m not stroking the screen as if I’m expecting to make it launch jizz.
I agree with Jeff … why use “bitches” in the title? What effect would be lost or compromised by just using “iPhone 3G unboxing”? It isn’t an issue of being uptight or anal, rather one of taste and class. If you want to attract nothing more than churlish, knuckle-dragging, pubescent Sidekick users, so be it. It’s just that it is quite a shame: you clearly are in a position to get industry-leading scoops on products and releases, thereby elevating your cache in the tech blogosphere, but then you squander it with this pointless language.
I’m curious, “Boy Genius” … who exactly is your demographic, your target audience? Would Jibi use the same language, I wonder? Tell us who you want to be and whom you wish to cater to, and those of us who don’t fall in those parameters will take our eyeballs elsewhere.
Sophist. They use “bitches!” because they figure it’s funny. I figure it’s funny too, but I can see why someone might not. Not everyone can be easy going, that’s fine. I don’t think it squanders their cache, I think it might elevate it.
Regarding their demographic: They don’t have to tell you anything. It’s up to you to decide if you want to read something. If you care enough about the subject matter, maybe you can even put up with a little churlish humour if the content is worth it. You think you can handle it? I think you can, you seem to have a thick enough skin.
all right, now that everyone is chilled out, lets look at some pretty pictures.
It’s really quite astonishing on how a little face-lift and some new glue makes it look, dare I say, nice. I mean re-hashing the same parts from the old one isn’t really a good thing to do. Especially if you’ve only been in the market as long as one of the batteries on these things lasts. In all honesty, I will be going to att to check it out on the display…or have the guy whip one out from the back. Yea it’s a little dirty, but what’re you gonna do about it?

How come everyone loves to hate on the sidekick users? Im 19 and I use a sidekick and I don’t go around swearing and acting like a knuckle-dragging, pubescent anything. I love how your offended by the word used but yet you go ahead and insult other people.
They thought it was funny, and so did I. Its nice to see BGR or any other site take a break from being serious and have some fun once in awhile. Sorry if it offended you or anybody else that bad but its all in good fun.

You obvious have no clue to what true user experience means.
It’s not all the stupid applications you can cram onto your windows mobile pda shi_t phone. It’s not the ‘torrent’ apps you can run (which is stupid as well). It’s not the unresponsive single touch screen your windows mobile sports either.
the “user experience” is the overall usability of the pda phone – seriously, I have been a long time windows mobile user and I have dumped WM 6.1 for the iPhone 3G. If you have to write a long ass comment to why the iPhone sucks and have to come up with the typical “cram all apps on the windows mobile phone” and compare to the iPhone, you truly have not used the iPhone much. After you have used an iPhone, you will realise that the 3-set features you use all the time performs near flawlessly on the iPhone.
There is no comparable mobile browser like Safari on the iPhone – NOT EVEN Opera 9.5 mobile. sure you have cut and paste, but that browser comes close – but still FAR OFF in terms of overall usability.
Last but not least, EVERY SINGLE WINDOWS MOBILE device nowadays with cooked roms try to imitate the iPhone – nearly all the features on the iPhone has been imitated – but seriously, it’s just not the same thing. And if the iPhone truly sucked like you say all iPhone buyers are idiots who don’t see the light in windows mobile devices, other companies making touch screen devices wouldn’t mimic the iPhone’s interface.
See the light like I did, come this July 11th, make the switch and stop wasting time updating your pda with cooked roms just to get it to be “more stable”. What time I have wasted on WM platform!
I agree with everything you said, it is up to them. It’s not a question of uptight, its more a question of someone reading at work, and titles like this have a tendency to mark a site. I think BGR is great, and there is a lot of good info in here (even for work)… Engadget is a great site too, humor and all, but they would defer titles like that
