HTC announces Touch Diamond on Telus, Canadians run wild through the streets
Get ready for this one, folks. HTC has just announced that Telus will be the first North American carrier to offer the new HTC Touch Diamond. The handset will be offered “later this summer” for the low price of $149.99, though you’ll have to sign away 3 years of your wireless life. Telus also offers some pretty attractive data options, including a $15/month plan for unlimited email and IM, and $30/month for unlimited email, IM, and browsing. Not bad at all. We’re still waiting on official confirmation from HTC, but chances are good that this thing will be running EV-DO Rev. A, providing full 3G data speed in addition to the TouchFLO 3D interface, 4GB of internal flash memory, and much more .The Touch Diamond is one of the most coveted handsets to come out of the Windows Mobile camp in recent memory, so Telus has certainly scored a win by getting their hands on this before anyone else on the continent. Sure, we’ll see a Sprint version of this before too long, and chances are good that AT&T is planning their own variant, but first is first.
it’s really too bad that htc made the screen so small, I might have stuck with sprint if it was 3.5″ like the iPhone

Just secured mine as an upgrade to my now dated P4000 (Mogul/Titan/PPC6800).
Service rep said it will be available very soon. Some time in July.
Why would ATT offer an EV-DO device? Don’t you mean Sprint and Verizon?

Personally I don’t care (actually I do) that the drivers are badish because I just dropped my Tilt (total accident) onto asphalt in a parking lot and nothing but a few scratches have emerged…thus far. Keep in mind I stood in the middle of the parking lot looking the phone over before I got to the car and left, even made people wait and honk at me.
Not this Canadian. I love my Telus 8330. Windows, been there, done that, and never going back. From what I have read from reviews, this thing is slow too. No surprise.

Nancy, I am also wondering when we will see this phone released. At this rate the US will have to phone out before Canada. Come on Telus give us a date!

Aug 14th Has been the confirmed date….but i am hoping for the touch pro a month later or soo becuz a physical keyboard is something im looking for.
the touch pro will be released in December, TELUS will be the first in Canada to launch the touch pro
ya i talked to a manager at telus he was telling me more then likely december, hopefully i can wait that long
