Verizon’s upcoming launch schedule detailed in leak

If you’re a Verizon subscriber looking to grab a new handset within the next several months, you’re about to have a lot lot be happy about. If these leaks are to be believed, the carrier is getting set to unveil a host of exciting new handsets. First up is the Touch Diamond and Touch Pro, both of which are clearly destined for the CDMA stable. There are no dates associated with these releases just yet, but we’re guessing a mid-fall release wouldn’t be out of the question. Next up is the Motorola Blaze which should hit stores by the 22nd of September. The Treo 800w is on there, but doesn’t have any specific date info, while the as-yet-unidentified Samsung SCH-U31 makes its first known appearance. There are a couple more slated for release in the next month or two, but the Touch Diamond and Touch Pro are the real gems here, no?

I gotta say that from what I’ve seen so far the HTC Diamond looks like it is going to be a Mobile Device to be reckon with.

All aside thought, I need my BlackBerry Scoop BG.

When, how and how much? Im fascinated about the fact that its Exclusively for Verizon…as long as they make there QUOTA set by RIM.

RIM must haved talked to other Carriers to give them a heads up on there new BlackBery Thunder device and if there were interested once Verizon slipped.

And regardless of that, RIM played it smart by having the Thunders chipset support GSM and not just CDMA.

Legions of other Wireless Carrier Customers will undoubtebly trip to VZW purchase some Thunder and unlock the Power within to use freely on there preferred service carrier.

I dont think that the gsm chipset will work in the united states. My guess is that it will be like the samsung i760 and samsung ace for sprint. The gsm band will be dual 900 and 1800. While R.I.M is smart verizon is not dumb. Which means a verizon phone will have no problem working on a vodaphone network. But will not give att and tmo the power to use it in the states.

As believed by many rumors in the past, the device has been officially named the BlackBerry 9500. Also, as reported in the past, it will launch on Verizon and Vodafone as a lifetime exclusive, operating on both high-speed HSPA and EV-DO networks (and even a GSM/EDGE transmitter for sh*ts and giggles). Now for some new information. The resolution for the touchscreen will be 360×480. Oddly enough, that’s slightly larger than the Apple iPhone and Apple iPhone 3G, which is the even more apparent inspiration for taking one extra step up for the BlackBerry 9500.

Oh yeah, last but not least, the BlackBerry Thunder will launch with OS 4.7.0.

Alright, not true at all… BB and Verizon are being pretty tight lipped on this one. I work for VZW DSC and no one seems to know anything. And the BB rep that was in a couple of weeks ago did not even acknowledge the device and this was after the news leak…
