I am having the same problem and haven’t been able to find any helpful info. Canola, Streamtuner, and many other programs wont install after updating to diablo on my n800. If anyone could help with this it would be a great help. Is there an earlier version of os2008 that works with these programs??

I am having this same problem … the applications manager doesn’t contain what is needed. I also have problems with sending emails.

I bought it yesterday. Upgraded it today. Now none of the programs will install. I also can’t figure out how to view videos i’ve converted and install Google Maps…

I upgraded to diablo and there are all sorts of programs I cannot install. I get a ‘application package not found’ Here are a few that won’t install: mplayer, canola2, streamtuner. To me these are important applications. Is anyone having the same problems???

upgraded to diablo without backup. Cannot install pidkin and xournal because it tells me that i am missing some file.

I got all of my software setup last night.

I must say, Diablo kicks ass. The bump in performance is not small. Aside from not being able to run omweather, this has been a seemless transition.

I highly recommend upgrading. It has made my favorite toy even better.

I reloaded Diablo over lunch, minus the restore. Problems solved.

The browsing is quick, quicker than the previous OS. The email program actually works. Nice.

Now, I just need to figure out how to get my programs back on there, which I’m not too worried about. I’m sure the geniuses over at ITT have already figured this stuff out.

I have the N800 and upgraded last night. Browsing was a bit sluggish but I think that’s because of Adblock Plus. I’ll have to disable it and browse a bit. Oh, when restoring data, just select ‘no’ to overwrite newer files. You’ll hit it quite a bit but I haven’t had any issues.

Diablo is much improved (email, web browsing, extra swap) but still to be lacking are native 802.11x support, ad2p, bluetooth-pan support.

Battery Life on my n800 is down. 1 hour of use and 5 in standby. When I could do 4 hours of use and 8 in standby.

I know. Just curious.

I have the n800. I’ve been trying to come up with a good upgrade excuse, but each device has its advantages. For me, the n800’s dual SD slots are reason enough to stick with it.

I wish they hadn’t gone mini on the n810.

I understand that the restore has been an issue. I’m going to give it another shot tonight, though this time, I’m only going to restore my bookmarks. I don’t mind going through and reinstalling my programs and redoing my settings.

The thought of having to go through setting up all of my bookmarks makes me want to jump off a bridge. If it comes down to setting those up or living with the old OS, at this point, I think I’ll probably live with the old OS.

Are you using the n800 or the n810?

Nate — From what I noticed yesterday is 2 versions of Diablo went up. I had a higher version then the first group of people that updated.

Regardless, browsing is zippy now. Unlike prior, and panning doesn’t glitch nearly as much. Also, the thumb keyboard comes up far more reliably. Overall, the device feels a lot faster (even menu’s react quicker).

Also, doing a backup and restore apparently overwrites many of the newly “fixed” files that were overwritten via flashing, and causes far more problems. So, I’d wipe it clean and flash it without a restore.

I didn’t have much luck with Diablo. I tried it last night and went back to the previous release about an hour later.

For some reason, my web browsing slowed to a crawl. An internet tablet that doesn’t browse the internet well kind of defeats the purpose.

From what I’ve read, Diablo is supposed to bring quicker browsing. So, I’m hoping I had a bad flash, or something. I’ll probably give it another shot tonight.

Now only if they could implement the first 2 key features with almost every device, that would be great.
