BlackBerry Bold delayed on AT&T until at least mid-August!

We know what you’re thinking… but this is for reals! We’ve just confirmed this now with two high-level sources: the Bold is actually delayed until August on AT&T. It seems like AT&T and RIM are still having software issues with battery life and overheating. It has not been certified by AT&T yet. This new information goes against our previous intel and thoughts, but it really looks like everyone on AT&T either needs to wait it out, get a Bold from Canada, or think impure thoughts. What you thinkin’? RIM = FAIL? Yeah, us too.

I’ve been using the Bold for two months now and this story is clearly BS. It’s probably delayed, but not because of the mentioned reason…

“no one manages to BGR’s “intel” dude.”
Are you Galvatron’s sister/brother/friend/relative?
Where is Galvatron anyway…haven’t seen a post from him in a while.

Wow, RIMM down -2.50 and APPLE up +2.50 after one hour of trading. Direct correlation? Yup, I think so. Keep it up with the “apple sux” posts BB fanboys.

d: Were you that idiot that payed $900 for it on ebay?

Tyrone, not sure what is so hard to understand.
No one manages their business to BGR’s self-imposed deadlines.
I’m sorry if you’re too retarded to see this point, and understand what I’m saying.
But I’m not surprised.
This phone will NOT BE OUT UNTIL SEPTEMBER AT THE EARLIEST FOLKS.
Sorry to say it, but BGR’s faithful flock are chasing false hopes (again).

BOB- youre obviously a moron
the guy who paid $900 is kevin from crackberry
brush up on your news and knowledge..

guess WHO: sorry, I must apologize, I do not read crackberry, because I do not care about a phone that I do not own and is so very inferior to the iPhone. However, upon my “brush-up” I determined that the phone was purchased for $820, not $900. Since you are a BB fanboy, I’d have to say that you sir are the moron as you didn’t know how much your prized, cough cough, delayed possession cost Kevin. That’s it, troll.

Well that sucks for all the people anxiously waiting for the Bold…How do you like them Apples, Rudy?”
Llama,
I don’t like Apple and their retarded fanboys at all so I am good with waiting for my Bold 1 more month!

The overheating must be due to that power hungry cut-and-paste feature of the Bold. Apple was smart enough not to include it in the iPhone.

Bob seems to be calling the kettle black. Fanaticism is rarely met with calm.
Interesting comment about RIMM’s stock considering how much better it has performed over the last 1,3,5 years than Apple. I have made so much more money in my RIMM than my Apple even though I have owned Apple longer. I guess I WAS dumb enough to own RIMM over the last few years so I sold a little a year ago to buy my first aston martin. God, I look stupid!
Bob, you really should stop for a second and do some math before making dumb comments. If you really believe that iPhone is going to turn the lights out on RIM, you aren’t doing any homework whatsoever. The market is too big for these devices and until Apple matches RIM’s distribution, RIM has plenty of growth ahead - even though the iPhone is an amazing platform. Just stay long both…

Ouch.. My wife was REALLY looking forward to this one. I’d be shocked if Rogers pushed it out the door before ATT.

I wondered what the wait time would be at an AT&T store with both the I-phone and Bold hitting about the same time.
I do agree with above, if Rogers releases as expected it has more to do with overloading the stores and web site than problems with the phone.
But that having been said and if the rumors are true that the Bold is already in the field I would expect to see some kind of an upgrade on the bold before it is released.

This is AT&T & Apple trying to give their 3G iPhone some time in the market before having another major marketing push…
…if not, I guess the waves of horror stories from Rogers customers (with exploding phones and seared hands) will scare the rest of us away from BlackBerrys, anyways!

You guys are crazy.
This has nothing to do with Apple, so stop trying to look like smart little strategists instead of bloggers.
Do you really think the Apple contract mentions RIMM launches?
Do you really think AT&T is in a position to delay revenue of any subscriber on any phone?
Back To School is the second-biggest promotional period in wireless. Why would you delay a phone past the BTS window and launch it when traffic is dead on purpose?
Come on guys…AT&T knows what they’re doing. This is a technical approval issue, nothing more.

Crazy Legs, wait a minute. Did you honestly just say RIMMs stock has performed better than Apple over the past 1,3,5 years??? Wow. Hate to do this to ya, but let’s see about your false statement there.
Apple 5 years ago was trading for… wait for it…
$9.5, Apple Today - $175, Apple 3 years ago today was $37, and Apple 1 year ago today was $122.
Let’s look at RIMM shall we?
5 Years ago $3.7, 3 years ago, $37, 1 year ago $123, today $143.
Now that the facts are out there, please tell me how RIMM has “performed better” than Apple over this time period when they had the SAME price 3 and 1 year ago respectively, yet Apple is $32 better today?
Know your facts before you talk, just because YOU bought Apple at the wrong time, doesn’t mean RIMM has “performed better” in recent years. This is stock trading 101, bud.
So there it is, the math. Stop and LEARN the math, before you make false comments, goodnight.

Kopelen,
I do not think you are going to have to switch to AT&T as several carriers will be releasing this phone includng verizon. Unless I am mistaken. This phone is the reason I have been waiting to upgrade, so it Verizon is not going to be carrying it, I am disappointed.

Bob, please check your numbers again. Your RIMM numbers are absolutely wrong.
on 6/25/07, RIMM closed at $55.25
on 6/24/05, RIMM closed at $25.7
on 6/25/03, RIMM closed at $3.8
Apple closed at $9.5, $37, $122 (1,3,5 years ago) vs $175 today.
this equals returns of 1742%, 373%, and 43% over the last 1,3,5 years.
NOW, let’s look at RIMM. The return over the last 1,3,5 years…WAIT FOR IT, WAIT FOR IT, WAIT FOR IT….
3532% for 5 years! WOW!
437% for 3 years! WOW!
151% for 1 year! WOW!
Last time I checked, 3532%>1742%,437%>373%,and 151%>43%.
Bob, please consider that you should check your facts before blasting other people. I don’t think you are an idiot but your fanaticism prevents you from using your noggin. Please use condoms in the future…

Bob, you are also not taking into account that RIM’s stock has split several times.
When you figure out how to calculate stocks then you can play with the big boys

Wow, I just figured out why the Bold is delayed. If all of you BB and iPhone Fanboys had to stand in the same line for your new loves, the childish exchanges we have to suffer here might get out of hand in person.
Because I drive a Ford doesn’t mean Toyota is going out of business any time soon. Because I prefer McDonalds doesn’t mean Burger King is going under. I love my BlackBerry and am looking forward to buying an iPhone so I can make honest, first hand comparisons. Even then I expect some trade offs on both product’s accounts.
Come on, get real out here, and quit wasting my time with your over inflated, under educated brand loyalty. Both products ROCK, and I can’t wait to carry both of them, when I can.
